Is There A Way To Disable The T3 Stage Of A Spell?

I'm trying to get rid of the god awful bounce on the bomb arrow spell. I'd rather the arrow explode on contact and not pierce and do random bounces that almost never hit the intended target. I've looked everywhere and haven't found anything so I'm guessing you can't, but thought I'd ask anyways. Crossing my fingers...

you cant but why is the bomb arrow bouncing bad?
it does everything t2 does but with extra bonuses, no downsides

 

It still explodes on the first impact, after which it starts getting reflected from walls, so there's no disadvantages to the upgrade.

 

The initial explosion radius feels a LOT smaller and also seemingly weaker. When sniping, more often than not, I need a second Bomb Arrow (subsequent use also increases mana usage) to actually kill my target.

 

The area of effect is the exact same throughout all tiers of the spell, and the damage between 2 and 3 is the exact same. You might want to check your equipment stats, if you think you're dealing less damage than before

 

Hmm, I'm still new to the game, is it perhaps due to dex applying 2x damage for some shots while others, are not?

 

I think dexterity only affects melee damage and not spell damage, but I may be wrong on this one

 

p sure you can get critical hits on spells

 

It affects both.

 

T3 bomb spell is always better than T2 bomb spell, except you are doing Corrupted Infested Pit.
(T3 bomb spell "helps" you break a lot of spider eggs, making you get swarmed easily.)

 

I thought this would be a rant on arrow shield's third upgrade
