Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The stool rolls over to an empty table, a small display reading “Baking - 11:57”

“Okay, sorry.”

 

"It's fine. No worries."
He tries to wake up.

 

He ascends into a portal, disappearing.

 

Stephanie sits and waits, glancing around nervously.

 

"...You want to try the thorns?"

Nobody comes, hold Lenka after a few minutes.
"I'm really sorry this whole thing's a mess."

He's left on his own, save for a stray songbird that seems to have followed him in.

 

Stephanie just stays where she is, unsure what to say. Stephanie shakes a little.

 

It leads back to his home.
“Skedaddle.”
He waves the bird away before actually trying anything.

 

"If they work. Sure."

 

"You sure you don't want to put this off? If you're too scared to show your face in friendly space, you should probably go home and keep recovering."

"I mean... they woke your friend up..."

It flees a bit, landing on the roof of the cabin before chirping.

 

"I-I can stay." Stephanie says.

 

Lenka takes a breath, seeming uncertain.
"Overdoing it won't do you any good. If you don't feel well enough to be safe here, you should go." He says, trying to take on a serious tone.

 

"N-No, I feel fine." Stephanie says.

 

Lenka nods, relaxing a bit before his wristband beeps.
"Oh... great, I'm needed elsewhere. I assume you're capable of eating on your own, so... uh, just wait in the hall when you're done."

 

Stephanie nods.

 

A wooden ball is suddenly created around the bird, trapping it in a sphere with air holes.
The sphere floats as well.

 

"Well, I can't imagine them feeling quiet pleasent. They are still thorns afterall."

 

Lenka waves.
"I'm hoping it doesn't take too long. I'll send my second in command down if it does. He's a dryad, so that also means he should theoretically know more about this magic stuff than I do."
The wristband beeps again.
"See you later!" He says, forgetting to close the door as he bolts.

"Maybe there's a toxin somewhere or something? Those work to wake up, right?"

It chirps more, alarmed, flailing around a bit inside the ball.

 

Stephanie waves lightly, before looking around for anyone else.

 

The ball floats over to Voidfiller’s hand and turns to glass, Voidfiller himself looking at he bird inside.

 

There's a group of the fur-kobolds at another table off a fair walk away, and a Teregecygian slowly working their way towards a stool.

Its coloring isn't particularly impressive, just a few simple patterns of black over a field of white.
