Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Stephanie follows, before getting closer to the fur-kobold to observe their work.

 

“Oh, he can stay, I’m leaving anyways.”

She finds herself held back by a force field, the creature glaring at her through a welding mask.
She seems to be working on wiring some sort of gauntlet.

 

Stephanie presses against the force field to look at the gauntlet.

 

“Which means that he should go as well.”
“Now, hold on a minute, I got some questions to ask y-”
The boy gets cut off as he drops through a portal, Voidfiller throwing the bag after him. The portal quickly closes.
“Don’t worry, he landed safely.”

 

It’s hard to tell what it’s for, but there are sixteen lenses and what looks like hundreds of tiny parts.
“I’ll make you a deal, girl. Leave the sword at the door and I’ll lower the field.” She says, glancing at what seems to be a higher-power welder.

“That wasn’t my main concern.” Keila yawns.

 

Stephanie takes out her sword, spinning it. Stephanie slowly pushes the sword through the forcefield, seeming to be able to do it without resistance.

 

“Huh.”
He pins a similar bag to the unconscious boy, before shoving him through a portal, which quickly closes.
“That’s that, then.”

 

The fur-kobold lets a few of the lenses shatter as she drops the gauntlet and her left arm becomes a railgun.
"Look, I ain't your punchin' bag, you hear? If you ain't willin' to give along with your take, I'll make sure to send you home with holes."
"Sis, st-"
"Len, I love you, but you better come back when you're done telling me to be a training dummy for some psycho demigoddess."
Lenka seems to start to be getting irritated.
"Okay, fine. Both of you stop, or you're fired and the tour's over. Right now." He growls.

"I'll... make a note that you aren't the most courteous in... any sense of the word."

 

Stephanie sighs, taking her sword and ramming it straight through her heart, the sword piercing the armour easily. However, Stephanie doesn't seem to react, bleed, or even collapse. The sword seems the phase straight through her.

 

The fur-kobold lowers their aim.
"Those were the last of those damn lenses, I'm not fixing any mi-" She growls as her arm turns back to normal.
"I SAID, RIGHT. NOW." Lenka roars.
She sighs, seeming intimidated.
He turns to Stephanie, sighing.
"I knew I shouldn't have volunteered for this. I'll... just try and make it up to you later. I'm sorry. Uh... mess hall next?"

 

Stephanie nods, albeit her body language conveying terror.

 

“I don’t have to be courteous to people I’m paying, I’m paying them.”
He shrugs.

 

Lenka holds the door open, bending over a bit before using his free paw to take a syringe out of his uniform and jabbing it in his neck.
"It's just down the... hrr... hall." He says, catching his breath.

"Good thing you owed me... I think... I'm sure I have it recorded somewhere..." She yawns, starting to lose her balance.

 

"Apparently he did!"

 

Stephanie glances back at the kobold, before leaving quickly, heading down the hall.

 

The golem that gave her the circlets inches closer.
“Naw, I just said I’d help you, and then I heard about the circlets not too long ago.”

 

Lenka stumbles a bit catching up to Stephanie, weary.
"I'm sorry, I... I should've thought that through. Could you refrain from, uh, threatening anyone please?"

"Well then, yes we should worry!"

"Well... you realize that us... us immortals work on our own terms... so, don't get too caught up thinking I owe you a favor."

 

Stephanie nods.

 

"So, uh... did I ever get your name?" He asks, red lines receding from his eyes.

 

"Stephanie." Stephanie says.
