"Or maybe, just maybe, it's because I met Sgavrinn."

 

"Dragons are magical, too. That could be it."

 

"Probably, he has been reappearing on my dreams, so that would be a good reason."

 

"You know he's squishing the plants, right?"

 

"Eh... is that bad? He likes plants afterall."

 

"Well, the plants should be able to grow back, but he's scaring some of the spirits who live underfoot."

 

"Do you have a download for one? I haven't seen any." David asks.

 

“I could send you an AR replica of your planet, if you’d like. I don’t know how many times I’ll need to dumb down the program to run on that little hardware, though.”

 

"Uh, sure." David says, suspicious.

 

Pause.
“...It might be less suspicious if I just let the subject drop.”

 

"I just can't tell if you're trying to send me a virus or not," David says, "Though you seem pretty interesting to talk to. Here, I'll send you my Dexcord ID, add me on there."

David sends a message in a text chat area, reading "DJDavid#3145201"

 

Stella goes off and makes a Dexcord account while she continues the conversation.
"Sending you a virus is the dumbest thing I could do. I can't learn how this works if everyone's trying to shut me out of this internet."

 

"Want me to call him back?"

 

"Eh, you can't really trust anyone over the internet." David says.

 

“If you don’t think he’d mind, yes.”

“Fair enough, still seems strange people would taint their word when it’s all they have.”

 

"I don't really understand their motivations outside of boredom." David says.

 

“Probably money, to a degree. Fools go mad over it.”

 

"Money is a human concept anyway." David says offhandedly.

 

"I wouldn't be too sure of that. Trading is universal, having a medium to do so seems like a natural derivation."
