Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, awesome. I've heard of you guys. You say you're trolls but you're not actually the internet kind, right? You're literally a troll." The stranger says.

 

“Actually, if your device is capable of videochat, I’ll show you. No, I’m not a troll.”

 

"I don't have a webcam, but you can always just turn your one on," The stranger says, "And yeah, I get it, you're just roleplaying."

 

Stella turns her camera on, showing a holographic woman with tons of holodisplays around her.
“I’m a hyperadvanced AI. Not roleplaying.”

 

"Those are some sick effects my dude." The stranger responds.

 

“I... figured you wouldn’t believe me. Here, let me show you around as proof.”
The camera transitions to overlooking various planets, occasionally switching back to Stella navigating thousands of holomenus at inrecognizeable speeds.
“I was an accident, and now I’m curious. You humans have this internet... and it’s interesting. Primitive, but interesting.”

 

"Pfft, tell me about it. Sometimes I feel like an accident." The stranger says.

 

“No, I mean I died for this. I lost an unborn child.”

 

"Fuck man, I'm sorry." The stranger says.

 

“...No, I’m getting too personal too quick, sorry. Uhm... what’s life like over there?” Stella asks, camera back on her as she slowly goes through a menu that lists spheres labeled “##/16 ###%/8192ZB”

 

"Eh, College has been tough lately, but things have been going alright. My girlfriend broke up with me a while ago though." The stranger says, sighing.

 

“That’s too bad. Hang in there, though.”
Pause.
“...You mind me asking your name?”

 

"David." The stranger responds.

 

“Well, nice talking with you. Say, what’s the normal operating capacity of computers on Earth? They seem... primitive, compared to my systems.”

 

"Uh, I'm no computer expert, sorry. My computer can run games pretty well though, I get around two hundred fps on a lot of the more intensive ones." David replies.

 

“In terms of RAM? Do any of them have more than 512 terabytes, or are you not there yet?”

 

"In a common computer? Mine only has one. I think some ultra expensive supercomputers might have a petabtye, I don't know." David responds.

 

“Aww, that’s adorable. I wonder what you could achieve if you had a few more zeroes on the right end of that number.”

 

"Storing more stuff? Honestly I've barely used three gigs." David says.

 

"They have to start somewhere, yes. Just didn't expect them to be so realistic."
