"Greetings." Gaia waves.

 

“What brings you two this far from home, if I may ask?”
“I’m sightseeing, and Gaia... well, I can’t really speak for her.”

 

"I'm accompanying Xlentia, though I am rather curious as to how you've managed to pilot such a large ship through space, much less build it." Gaia says.

 

“Lady Gaia, all due respect, this is only a Lunar-class arkship. They only get bigger from here.” The captain says, bowing again. “Singularity-class is as big as they get, and those ships usually carry the equipment for solar system relocation. I don’t know if they’re used for any other purposes.”

 

"I didn't realise how advanced this reality was. However I'm certain Caelia would disapprove of such actions in my own." Gaia says.

 

"Caelia? Is she your goddess of space? As for ours, Idhaenna is... an interesting character. She's done much to advance us, though."

 

"Our realities are certainly very different, if that's the case." Gaia admits.

 

"Kind of, I guess. I've seen a lot of talking beasts lately, so it doesn't really surprise me anymore."

 

"Do your colleagues hinder mortals? Ours have found us to be great tools."
Pause.
"...No ill will intended. Stella hasn't been able to look much into you or your fellow gods."

"Sounds like a blurred line from there and the dream world, then."

 

"Who is "Stella"?" Gaia asks, suspicious.

 

The captain glances over at his crew, then nods.
"Well... she's sort of one big intergalactic adoptive mother to us all. Stella is a hyperadvanced AI that... sort of was a result of a really bad accident. See, researchers were trying to make more and more lifelike AI, but a woman named Stella once failed to follow safety protocol and found herself stuck as data during a test. She became one with the AI program they were working with, and it was absolutely perfect. Ever since, she's been looking over the galaxy and distributes communication tech and medicine to planets that aren't as well off. She may scare outsiders because everything goes through her, but I wouldn't accept a single substitute. As long as she's independent, our systems are completely unhackable. You let her take you in, and she makes sure harm comes to none of her children."

 

"That's rather interesting," Gaia says, "Do you gods know of her?"

 

Xlentia nods.
"Of course, I helped fund the research."

 

"I guess it's not my place to criticise here." Gaia says, sounding more resigned.

 

"No, please, by all means speak your mind. Things may be different, but that doesn't have to be a problem." Xlentia urges.

 

"You've given a mortal powers close to that of a god's. Mortals such as the hive master are surely a result of such...passive action." Gaia says.

 

Xlentia snickers.
"Oh, hon, I love your concern, but the Hive Master's a whole different story. We're talking bastard children and my parent at that point." She laughs. "Besides, Stella's no mortal. It cost her her life and her unborn child. That's not a price any mother would pay to live through the torment of agelessness."
Pause.
"...Though, your words do have weight. I'll run your concerns by Idhaenna, though she's likely to just ignore it."

 

"A fool would ignore the wise advice of others." Gaia says.

 

"The wise one is my brother, and he's mind controlled right now, so I apologize for my ruthlessness, but if you want to tell Idhaenna she's doing everything wrong, you either need to accept that you're going to be ignored, or expect her to retaliate. To be perfectly honest, I'd do the same. No god is perfect, there's always one bad apple in the bunch. No sense ruining a concert for everyone just because one mortal stabbed their neighbor. You kill that one and give the others protection. At least, that's what we do here."

 

Gaia snickers a bit, looking away and smiling.
