Skill Points Preference Poll

Really it depends on whether I'm doing a rainbow build (not tank with mythic, actual rainbow) or just a single/dual element build. If it's not rainbow I'll probably always go with the +5 one.

 

+2 in each
because Every build I ever made had atleast some sp in 3 elements or more so +2 in each will give me overall more sp

 

Obviously it depends on a situation.
Without describing the entire situation, you can't say

 

+2 in each because i would have more sp left

 

Since I like to center my builds with one or two elements, having the +2 in all means I kind of waste four skill points. I'll take the 5 in one stat, but that's just all based on preference

 

If all builds we're created equal, there would be no reason to specialize any builds in a single element so as to get the bonuses from all of the skills. Thus, using +2 in all would be better. In reality, no builds are equal, and this question becomes infinitely harder to answer. Since no builds are exactly balanced, we will see builds that don't use more than 1-2 elements, which reduces the effectiveness of the +2 helmet if used. If using 3 or more, then the piece is worth using. Honestly, you'd likely just be able to swap in Vaward or gigabyte rather than give up the helmet slot, unless you wanna use shimmersight. This question is really getting to the heart of why sp slap items are useful for only highly specific reasons like meeting requirements in SP tight builds or rainbow builds. I like it!

 

That's actually a really great point that I hadn't thought of.

 

You can't have equality if some builds have bonuses that other builds don't. Think like this. What if every single build had 68 points to distribute. Now all of the builds are equal right? Wrong, one might choose to put all of them into a single stat and get +50% boost to a specific bonus like spell cost, or defense, or Dodge. Then the builds aren't all equal. Hence they'd need to be all using exactly the same skill point set up, to get exactly the same bonuses. Then to need to worry about armor, armor powder slots, weapons, weapon powder slots, all the elemental powders, and even the classes spells *cough* *mage heal* *cough*

 

+5 because anything other than Dex. Agi. or Intel will screw up my build.

 

endgame builds i usually use specialize in 1 element specifically and would be better to have something that gives +5 in 1 element

but if its something like a rainbow build that would be a different story

 

+2 in each element gives a bigger stat boost in total.

 

Yeah I think so, they give in raw numbers a lot more skillpoints which is really important in sp tight builds.

 

+2 in every because rainbow is fancy and fabulous.

 

I would think +2 due to the scaling factor of skill points and that most armor requires multiple skill points.

+5 is easily better because the majority of builds aren't rainbow slap so +5 > +2

 

Personally I would go with +5 in one skill point. I like prefer specialization in a specific element.

 

+5 because if I want an SP helmet we have blue mask
also most of the time if an item only has one or two skill point bonuses, it is based around stats for that type of build, which helps in builds
