There only seems to be pictures of statues and digital art of what people believe Caelia looks like.


"How did he get so much power?" Alex asks.

 

“Your gods must be super reclusive. I could show you projections of mine from the StellarNet right now.”


“Teaching himself, slowly spreading his influence before attempting a direct takeover.”

 

“Well, I don’t really know where you are if you’re not up here.”
He starts towards the exit.

 

“I’ll wait just outside this room. Harpy statue, specifically.”

 

"A small portion of people don't even believe in the gods, since they seldom speak with mortals." Gil says.


"Does he have some natural psychic ability of mind control then?" Alex asks.

 

“That’s an easy fix, though. I wonder why they don’t just do so.”


“Yes and no. He just exploits telepathic capabilities, which is forbidden magic but far from difficult.”

 

"I believe they have their own reasons for it." Gil says.


"Oh, are telepathic abilities banned here? I naturally have telekinetic powers, so long as there's enough solid ground around me to sustain them." Alex says, sounding nervous.

 

“It still makes no sense, but true.”


“No, we use telepathy daily. The practice of hijacking that power is forbidden.”

 

Gil reads through the encyclopedia page a bit more out of curiosity.


"Hijacking? So...he doesn't have that power?" Alex asks, confused.

 

Pozel follows along, silent.


“No, he does. He just uses that power in others to expand his influence, as well as manipulate them. Only problem is that telepathy can reach beings without that ability, and so can he.”

 

The page seems to detail what powers Caelia is supposed to possess, as well as a history of people worshiping her and how they do it.


"Oh, he mind controls one to use their mind control powers to mind control another?" Alex asks.

 

He reads on about her powers.


“Yes, sort of. It’s not that everyone he mind controls knows how, it’s just he uses their abilities to mind control more people.”

 

Apparently Caelia possess extreme telekinetic powers, teleportation anywhere, spatial manipulation, creation and destruction, as well as sight across anywhere and other minor space-related powers.


"I understand." Alex says, nodding.

 

“She seems like a more limited Lady Idhaenna. I’d love to meet her, though... she must know the prettiest sights.”


“So, yeah. That’s who I’m fighting. Now, bunk room?”

 

Bardock pets Sgavrinn while he's waiting for the ferret to return with some water.

 

“A’ight.”
He waves as he leaves.

 

Maqo waves back, fading from sight.

Sgavrinn hums a bit before emptying the cup as the ferret brings it back.
“...I’ll just get a hose.” He sighs.

 

About fifteen minutes later, Crystal comes along, looking for a harpy statue.

 

"It would be amazing to meet any of the gods, I've met with Nymphaeria." Gil says happily.


"Lead the way." Alex says cheerily.

 

"Yeah, do that."
He jokingly says.
