Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“What kind of videos?”


“No, she won’t. Her adviser won’t let her.”

He moans, slowing down.

“Just making sure. Better luck next time. I bet you got your next fight, you hear? We all have bad days.”

 

"Gameplay, mostly." Gil says.


"Ok, good. Thought I was stepping into eternal servitude for a second there." Alex laughs.

 

“Anything else?”


“I mean, if you had to serve someone for the rest of your life, I’d probably take siding with someone nicknamed The Great Destroyer than against them.” Ihra giggles.

 

“You say that like I’m disappointed. That was a pretty good fight.”
He seems disheartened nonetheless.

 

"Occasionally review videos or explanatory videos for game design, but not much else." Gil says, shrugging.


"I'd always pick Lady Gaia." Alex says happily.

 

"Do you ever let the others use it?"


"Oh, that reminds me... are you aware that there's more than one reality? Because if you weren't, then I might just have to introduce you to both Lady Gaia."

"It was a spectacle, let me tell you. Maqo said that if he won, he'd split the spoils 50-50 with you, and the crowd threw in quite a bit of coin. Check in with Emerald to cash in on that."
Pause.
"...Though I say that like you're disappointed because you look a little down. Can't win 'em all, but you can keep the ones you lose in here."

 

“Yeah, I guess that’s nice.”
He looks towards the stands for a few seconds.
“‘E ever give a reason for splitting it?”

 

"Said he saw something in you. Somethin' like you seemed a bit strange, but no ill intent. Hell, he said he told us to let you know he'd be up in the armory. I bet he'd give you more details than he did us."

 

“A’ight. Thanks.”
He nods.

 

The guards stop at the outer gate, which he now recognizes as the same place he entered.
"Hope to see you again soon, Voidfiller. You might want to console some weird pink golem thing, they seemed sort of down at your loss."

He can see Maqo floating up to the armory off in the distance.

 

He looks towards Maqo.
“He’ll, uhm... I’ll take care of that.”
He then starts making his way up to the armory.

 

"Have a good day." The guard says, waving.

The armory isn't a terribly long walk, and he gets there just as Maqo starts putting his blades back on the racks.
"Oh, hey. Uh... sorry about the scream. Not really much I can do about what it sounds like." He says, glancing over his shoulder.

 

Voidfiller waves his hand dismissively.
“It’s not a big deal. Really. You wanted to talk?”

 

"Yeah, if they want to." Gil says.


"I didn't think there could be more than one to be quite honest." Alex says.

 

"Yeah. I just remember how I felt when I lost in qualifiers, and... well, that's something else. You remind me of my late cousin, and I sort of hoped to get to know you a bit better. A little crazy, a bit odd, but curious. He passed after an experiment gone awry."

"Do they ever want to?"


"Well... how about I introduce you to what's going on outside of your human problem?"

 

"Occasionally, but they're mostly out scavenging." Gil says.


"Sure." Alex shrugs.

 

“Oh...”
Pause.
“I usually don’t... remind people of other people.”

 

"Can I see it?"

 

"You can grow some yourself if you're hungry."

 

He grumbles, growing a vine to chew on.

“See... what? The city?”

“You’d definitely be hard pressed to find a shapeshifter as openly amorphous as you are.”

“Have you ever gone out?”


Ihra opens a portal to what seems like a supermassive double-door cloaked slightly by some sort of grey fog.
