"Mostly into the Realm of Light, I hear."


"Oh, how about a meeting with Gaia?" Ihra asks, smiling.

He shakes his head, looking at the gardens.

"I appreciate that. So... any other questions?"

 

He rushes towards one of the daggers as he goes outside the circle, trying to take it as he goes.

 

"I've never been there, and I don't plan to especially after all the bad news about it a while ago." Gil says.


"Y-You could really do that?" Alex asks, shocked.

 

"What bad news?"


"Alex, I'm friends with the king and queen of shadows, I'm on good terms with the king and queen of light, I've attended a meeting of the gods and came out with what I went in wanting, and I know more than one way I could have you meet Gaia in flesh and blood." Ihra says happily. "It would be far from the hardest thing I've done."

Touching the dagger winds up being a fatal mistake, hyper-amplified pulses of spectral energy stirred up in the winds rip his body and soul apart from each other and into tiny pieces. Despite being actively dematerialized, he can hear the screeching echo fade as everything resets to the way it was before the fight, Maqo bowing on the other side of the arena as the gates out open.

 

Voidfiller stands as eyes are created ringing around his head, then they disappear as they blink. He quickly mimics Maqo’s bow afterwards.

 

Guards come and escort Maqo out of the arena, two others doing the same.
"Banshee screams aren't fun, eh?" One whispers.

 

Voidfiller gets ready to follow.
“Not at all. I’m a few dozen centuries out of the ‘touching intangible creatures’ business as well, so that was irritating.”
He whispers back.

 

"There was some news about some of their weaponry being downgraded and how they were mind controlling hundreds guardians in an attempt to breach realities." Gil says.


"So...you could really take me to see Lady Gaia?" Alex asks in disbelief.

 

"They've rebuilt since then."


Ihra hands Alex a seed that's large enough to fit in her palm.
"Go finish whatever you were doing, and crush the seed. You'll be brought to my home, and I can handle things from there."

"Yeah, that'd do it. Your ears still ringing, or you good?"

 

"Still, I don't trust them." Gil says with an uneasy look.


"The thing I was doing was saving you." Alex laughs.

 

"Don't worry about it too much. Obviously they're not coming here."


"Well... I suppose I can just call this excursion quits and head home. You scared of things much larger than you are?"

 

"As much as a Shadow isn't going there I'd guess." Gil says.


"Not really, as long as there's solid ground about." Alex says.

 

"In other words, essentially nothing to worry about."


"Well, it's not a giant space station, so you'll be fine. Relatively speaking. I'm sort of camping out in a goddess' palace, and said goddess is both massive and known for destroying entire dimensions at once. So, uh... tell her she's pretty and you'll have a really scary friend."

 

Gil nods.


"Compliment the goddess, got it." Alex says, understanding.

 

"So, other than games and projects, what else do you do on this?"


"Only if she asks, else she might want you as a servant and pay you thousands of times your weight in gold for it."

 

"Talk to people and watch videos." Gil says honestly.


"She won't force me, will she?" Alex asks, nervous.

 

“I’m... pretty good. Yeah, I’m fine.”

 

"Don't you dare eat those flowers. They are for viewing, not eating."
