Why can't people tell when music is shit, and when music is good
people in this thread are having a hard time coming to the conclusion of how bad this song is. It's the equivalent of "Battle for the World", a.k.a. endless repeating garbage that has no melody to sustain itself

Yeah bud, knowing noteblock studio it's very easy to see you just stole someone else's song from a midi file

oh yeah! maybe it was from your own midi file, but that's still highly unlikely, because you can tell the pitch of things is off, and the drum beats and double bass are too unnatural in many places throughout the song. This is due to the TPS and OCTAVE limits with noteblocks. If you expand the note's range outside of the 2 octaves you are limited to in nbs, you can easily tell it sounds a lot more like an actual song rather than this repetitive garbage

I used fl studio to make the song and then put it into noteblock studio to finalize it

"you have no good evidence to say its stolen" I saw the word "grand piano" written multiple times on the song layers, and if you look at the song stats, how in the world did you only spend 6 minutes total in the file, even if you put in a midi?! It just doesn't add up. I have a lot of proof, but it's slightly possible that you made it in fl studio, so prove it to us. As far as everyone else is concerned, I'm 100% sure that the evidence is pointing against you (at least for now).

It's funny how I never said a song is bad because it only has 2 octaves, you're twisting my words. I said the song was stolen because it fits much better outside of the two octaves (hinting that it was made by someone who wasn't making the song with the two octave limit in mind). While I'm on the subject, why the fuck do you think I was a composer for wynncraft if I had a problem with the two octave limit?

Okay, soooooooo why don't you prove that the work is yours? Show us all, go right ahead. Show us the file you made, and give us infallible proof that you created it. Or can you do that? I give no good criticisms? Look, I've had this said straight to my face and I'll tell you the same thing, even though it's ironic that I'm saying this: your song is utter shit. It repeats the same thing over and over again, maybe sometimes it varies in pitch but that's it. Just how in the world did you make a song worse than battle for the world? It astounds me. There is no constant drum beat, it's just a kid hitting drums randomly. It's not pleasant to listen to, it's loud, annoying, the double bass and the harp rarely even match in the same key, the ending is abrupt and makes absolutely no sense, the song does not loop well, there is no theme whatsoever (and no, the backbone of the song in a different octave is NOT A THEME), it's sharp and cacophonous to the ears, I hate it. However, it can be improved. Everyone starting in music isn't going to make the perfect piece at all, not even Mozart did.

You see, I was going to be nice and help you out, but seeing as though the song is MOST LIKELY STOLEN, I've decided to borderline harass you. While that's not okay and only brings detriment to me, at least it will expose shitty third rate composers who steal music. Don't get me wrong, I'm a shitty third rate composer, I just don't steal.

 

Well thanks for harassing me, I've proven to the mods the song is mine. If you wanna keep going down this rabbit hole and get banned from the forums, that's fine.

Also the song is a style that a lot of people like, genres like techno and progressive rock spam notes in a way I and a lot of others like that's fine, but if you don't like it that's fine.

 

@SethPRG Harassing someone in this manner is not acceptable. Your "criticism" in this thread has consisted primarily of simply stating the song is bad. That isn't criticism, that's just being mean. Along with that you've included a flurry of direct insults in your posts and used a general condescending and harsh tone. Members of our forum are not allowed to act this way towards each other.

Also, if you believe that someone has plagiarized something, you need to provide proof yourself.

I was trying to make a song similar to Great Bridge but more fitting for a boss fight

As I said, I am working on an improved version with more general motifs and a much better finale

Question: How did you import WC noteblock sounds into the Noteblock Studio?

 

rename all the wc noteblock sounds to ones that noteblock studio recognizes and move them to the "sounds folder". you can open this folder by going into the custom sounds window and clicking on the "open folder" button

 

dont listen to seth he has a thing for getting extra triggered when he thinks somebody stole music, its why he threatened to sue salted bc he made half of bucie but it said "written by selvut" instead of him AND selvut...

(whats more is that is a really dick move because nobody in wynncraft team is really rich and a lawsuit case would be hard on them.)

Tl;dr version

He was the wynn noteblock dude
He left the team from some internal dispute thing
The song he mainly wrote was kept in and he wanted it removed or credit or something but it wasn't
He decided to sue [yeah a bit dumb but whatev]
Salted then says ok sure delete song

 

One day he will look back to these days - and he will regret about all the dumb stuff he said. Because, it is really damn dumb.

If he view all music as "sue me pls", might as well change his name to Mr. Lawsuit. Plus, we are composing and sharing music here just for fun. Its not like we are making money out of this.


Anyways, not all music has to be completely different. Game music in particular? Very similar. If your music sounds similar to another, it is not wrong. Even if you claim it to be "original" it will still sound like someone else's music. And repeating parts? Not necessarily a bad thing as long as it is not overused. Who says you can't use the same rift if it is really really cool?

I probably could not give any good feedback since I am also quite new to composing, but I think it is pretty good!

Anyways, composing music is a pretty tough thing to do (from my experience). You should be very proud of your work, but of course still take constructive criticism from people who actually could.
