Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Bardock runs after him.

 

The amalgamation doesn’t move forward more, allowing itself to be blown backwards.
The other creature rolls backwards without shifting, then uses a pillar of earth to raise himself far up.

 

Pozel follows suit.


“Oh, yeah. I had three before Shadow Stephanie.”


Ihra uses a bit of magic to keep the stench away, keeping her eyes peeled.

You wind up seeing Sgavrinn flying overhead, except if you keep pace, he’ll land on you.

One half lets loose another sonic boom to knock them off the platform.

 

"So..." Gil says.


"Who were they?" Abigail asks.


Ihra suddenly feels something incredibly heavy whack her on the back of the head with extreme force, enough to easily knock her out without anything protective.

 

This works, but as they fall off, a part jets out and catches them, part of their hand starting to sink into the pillar.

 

“...Anything else on your computer?”


“I don’t know if I trust you with their names.”


It hits a barrier, and her staff lets out a blinding flash in response, though she covers the boy’s eyes.

He digs his daggers into the ground a bit before whipping up a tornado, the bits of dirt slowly eroding away at the pillar... assuming it doesn’t break off from gale force winds first.

 

The creature makes dirt pile up around the base to support the pillar, still hanging.

 

"You could browse the maginet if you wanted." Gil offers.


"Like I give a shit enough to hunt them down or something." Abigail says.


A thug wielding a lead pipe is blinded, though Ihra is soon grabbed from behind as a cloth is forced over her nose, an odd potent aroma causing Ihra to pass out.

 

Maqo sends a few more sonic booms to make conditions even less bearable,

“I dunno what that is, so I guess?”


“With you, I’m not risking it.”


Her entire body (and the boy) seems to be covered with a barrier. However, the thugs feel watched by something else.

 

The creature fully encases itself inside the pillar, not bothering to support it anymore.

 

"Sgavrinn? What are you doing?"
He continues running while keeping an eye on Sgavrinn.

 

Gil opens a window on his computer, leading to a website with a logo reading 'Moogle', a small, white winged mascot creature with a tail with a red ball on the end floating by it.


"Katie will probably tell me anyway." Abigail mutters, sipping her tea.


"Plan B, men!" The thug shouts.

A cloaked man steps out from behind Ihra, bowing.

"How lovely it is to meet your acquaintance. I'm guessing these men are troubling you?" The man says.

"Who's this guy?" The other thug shouts.

 

He’s going after the ferret as well, but doesn’t hear you.

Maqo strikes at random angles with both halves of his body.

Poze types in “spider.”


“I don’t think she knows.”


(Isn’t she asleep?)

 

The creature gives itself room in its encasing, checking if it can still open portals, opening one from his earthen chamber linking to one right next to the amalgamation.

 

"Sgavrinn, stop!"
He hurries after him.

 

Various articles about spiders come up, one an encyclopedia entry about them. An 'images' tab appears to be available at the top among other search types.


"Yeah, but she's good at getting information from people. It's her charm." Abigail says.


(I didn't know if you meant the barrier had blocked the thug or if the barrier formed around her after being KO'd)

[Let's try that again]

"Plan B, men!" The thug shouts.

A cloaked figure appears beside the barrier, glancing in.

"Now Oliver, you remember the rune I taught you for this situation?" The cloaked figure asks.

The boy takes out a mage crystal and begins drawing a rune in the air, as does the cloaked figure. The runes collide against each side of the barrier, dissolving it.

"Excellent work." The cloaked figure says, patting the boy, presumably Oliver, on the head as he picks Ihra up and hoists her over his shoulder, taking her away.


Ihra wakes up strapped to a table, staring at a bright light. Her hands are covered by metal cloves, and her feet are tightly cuffed to the table.

"How much do you think her horns will be worth?" Ihra hears beside her, though she's unable to turn her head.

 

Pozel clicks on the images tab.


“We’ll see.”


“Your lives, maybe?” Ihra asks, laughing. “I’d be careful about hurting me, or you might level this city.”

You’re still directly below him.

Only to inside the arena.

 

He makes sure his encasing is solid as to not alert Maqo before silently slipping through it, appearing next to the amalgamation.

 

It walks into a sonic boom, Maqo’s arm waiting.

 

Various pictures of different spiders appear, as well as one seemingly unrelated image of a girl with grey skin and odd orange horns.


"She's a good friend." Abigail comments, drinking the last of her tea.


"Oh, did I forget to activate them?" Another voice says, getting closer to Ihra before he's visible. A man in a dark cloak with a rune on his forehead taps on each of Ihra's cuffs, runes glowing which send a painful shock through Ihra as they drain her magic.

"She has an egg tooth too. I'm sure we could pull that for some extra cash, it looks enough like a baby dragon's tooth." The cloaked man says as he walks away.

"We're still pulling the rest of her teeth too, right?" Another voice asks.

"Yes, you bone head! Now sharpen that saw, we can get to work on removing her horns too. Where are the knives..." He says, before metal clinking around can be heard.
