Build New! Insane Island Nation Build! (update)

Eyyy guys! I have taken alot of yall' advice and added some serious improvements. Hope yall enjoy! please I still need some constructive advice even though the island is done! This is a nation afterall so its got 9 islands! :3 If you want to join me in building this ENSANE BUILD or just want to see it from all angles, hop on Builders Refuge, go to the 500 x 500 plots and do /plot h Qulaey. :D

PS. The terrain kinda looks unnatural but you actually executed the buildings you made on the island fit it's unnaturality

 

That was the style I was going for all along! It was suposed to be surreal, fantasy kinda feel.

As I have said many times in the past. Prismarine is super underated! If used well it looks really good on just about anything.

P.S. : Thank the gods of MC for adding prismarine stairs :D

Try to use slabs and stairs at the holes... It looks more like contrast... :D But your work looks very good!

As a builder myself, I absolutely love it.
However the dark spots make it look sad in some spots, so maybe add some torches on fences or hidden lighting to make some spots pop.

should I light up all the areas or just the docks?

 

What I mean by that is a kind of gloomy, dark area that isn't really pleasing to look at. I'm not really sure how to explain it further, and even that explanation isn't the greatest sorry. Your eyes aren't really drawn to those areas, because there's nothing to look at there, if that makes sense.

I would light up all the areas, especially the docks. The docks are a main idea in this, not really the walls/ outcroppings. Just don't go too crazy with the lighting, you want a little bit of darkness to contrast the light; it just makes it more pleasing.
