A Modern Day Fantasy Rp [6/10]

OOC: Wait... I can see in the past now?

I stop using True Sight. I walk back in, humming the music that Zach played. I walk up to Kayla and the rest. "Nice work." Then I continue walking into the kitchen.

OOC: TBH, I should probably be using True Sight to check the past here but I'mma think that my skill isn't good enough yet to look into an exact time.

I sweep my eyes around the room, looking for details. How did he get in here... What was he doing this for... Was there anyone else... And, most importantly, did he touch my noodles!

OOC: The noodles are very important. Food is nice. :p

 

I sweep away the lion ash with my foot, then I return to my apartment to wait for the next day.

 

You see a male in his early twenties say "Nice work," before continuing to enter and observe the kitchen. The girl herself doesn't seem to care that much about what she just did and fishes out her phone and reads something.

"She's a good shot, aye," Chaz mutters. "Her name's Kayla, by the way. She's one of the teenagers that've fought Quantum in the past." Then he lowers his voice and mutters, "The M.S.A.A. looks like a practical joke . . . sending kids to do their dirty work and somehow succeed, heh," then he raises his voice back to normal volume. "They should learn from that group of vigilantes, aye."

You proceed to go back to your apartment but are stopped halfway up the stairs by a dark cloaked figure. They appear to be from Order NIBIRU because their cloak has the trademark 'X' on it to demonstrate Planet X and extermination. "Ms. Skilar," a raspy voice says. "Why were you helping two girls from Order SIRIUS beat the Nemean Lion?"

Yeah, little buff since you lack combat skills lol.

Going into the kitchen reveals a super organized presentation of various different food and food types. You then see two men unconscious on the floor, one cook and one hooded figure in a grey jacket. The hooded figure doesn't appear to have a deep wound from the arrow and the arrow itself is just made out of rubber in a weird shape for bouncing off objects. Only a small part of the tip is metal and is very dull and round. Definitely not enough to kill a person but surely enough to knock them unconscious for a while. You notice an open vent on the side of the wall. Must've been where the person came in through. You also see a spilled bowl of noodles and a burger lying on the ground alongside a dish broken in half. Kind of strange that no one heard any noise. What now?

 

"Well good to know that people just shoot each other in here for no reason. Now waht were you saying about some vigilantes?"

I use True Sight too look through the grey jacket. I also use my watch to start calling Hanzo.

 

"Well the group of teenagers used to only be a group of two . . . and they were what you'd call the term vigilantes, aye? They weren't always part of Order SIRIUS when fighting Quantum. I'm just saying that the M.S.A.A. should learn from this group," he gestures at the group the girl from earlier was in.

The man appears to be someone in their mid-thirties whom you don't recognize. Nothing really peculiar about their outfit or face underneath the jacket. You then call Hanzo.

"Hello? Mr. Hanzo here," he says through the watch.

 

"Hey, this is Tim." I change True Sight to detect lies. "Just wondering... who let an outsider inside the base the attack the cook?" I let that sink in for a bit. "Did we have no information on this? No prior warning, no tracking, nothing? How'd he get into the kitchen anyways? And without anyone noticing?"

 

"I honestly have no idea," was his simple answer. "We usually don't have to worry about intruders inside the base due to the only way getting in is teleporting or using the few secret entrances which are always sealed unless an Order SIRIUS member opens them." None of that appears to be a lie either. Then he says, "Has the situation been dealt with yet?"

 

I disable True Sight. "Yeah, Kayla already dealt with the intruder. He's in the kitchen. He probably came in from through the vents from what I'm seeing. There's a new face in the cafeteria. His magic's orange with hints of red. He looks [describe him]. You may want to check up on him as well."

I look into the vents.

 

All you see is . . . an ordinary metal vent with wait . . . a pouch of . . . rocks? The vent looks big enough for someone to crawl through.

 

"Ok. Sure. Why not. Who do you work for, and why am I suddenly a Percy Jackson-style monster magnet?"

 

A pouch of... rocks... Uhhhh...

I lean out of the kitchen. "Hey guys! (keep calling them till Zach and the rest look over)" I wave them over. "There's something I want to ask you all."
When they come over, I say, "I think this person came through the vents so I looked inside. But what I saw was a pouch of... rocks." I then proceed to describe the rocks to them. After a short pause, "On another note... how long will he stay unconscious?"

Then I go back to my watch. "Hanzo, is how long till someone comes to check in on this situation?"

 

"I don't work for anyone. And I haven't read the Percy Jackson books yet but all my friends have," the figure says. Then he thinks about something and says, "You're new to the magic world, aren't you?"

Yeah I've read the Percy Jackson franchise, don't worry lol

"He should stay unconscious for about an hour," Kayla says. "The arrow isn't really designed to do much damage."

"A pouch of rocks?" James ponders. "Why would anyone bring a pouch of . . . wait, do the rocks have symbols on them?"

You don't have answer to that question because you didn't observe them enough so you just shrug.

"Well they can be runes . . ." James continues. "Arya throws these rock rune things at people and says they're Norse Runes."

"Oh hey, group chat updated," Zach says. "They've dealt with the situation. They're getting Ken now."

Then you go back to your watch. "Hanzo, is how long till someone comes to check in on this situation?"

"No idea. Everyone is still hopelessly searching for Quantum," Mr. Hanzo says. "I could investigate myself although that would leave the surveillance system unchecked. You could also ask Zach, he's an investigator you know?"

 

"Okay, I'll ask him then. Thanks," I say to Hanzo. Then I look up from my watch.
"So, a mage, a musician and an investigator. I feel as if you would be better taking this situation than I am," I say looking at Zach. "So, will you take a hold of this?"

 

"Still I don't understand why she'd just shoot someone, but that makes things interesting."

 

"Well I'm not really a mage but sure," Zach responds. He first goes to the open vent with the pouch of rocks. He loosely says, "They aren't runes," before continuing to shake them. It appears there's something inside the "rock." He mutters, "Chances are these are bombs most likely." He then creates a flying platform for the rock and a green transparent sphere around it. A sharp transparent green shard is afterward formed inside the sphere and cuts the 'rock' several times before you can finally see the inside of the rock shell. There appears to be a small chip in there. Zach then forces the shard to pierce the chip and like he predicted, it explodes inside the sphere. The transparent sphere shatters by the impact of the bomb but no other damage is done. Zach then asks, "Can anyone put these bombs somewhere safe please for later investigation?"

"She shot some intruder," Chaz says. "Order SIRIUS can't risk having intruders inside the complex to destroy the building, aye."

 

"Well then she has a good eye. Wait how did the intruder even get in here?"

Is the guy with the magic arrow still near me, or has he left?

 

"Uh... we don't have a weapon mage do we..." I gingerly take the pouch out of his hands. "I'll hold onto this till you need it I guess..."

 

Dude with magic arrow is Zach. He left.
