Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Alright..." Gil says, sounding confused.


"Sounds good." Abigail says, smiling lightly.


Even people without umbrellas give Ihra strange looks in return.

While looking for a hospital, Ihra finds a young boy crying sat next to an alley, his knee cut and bleeding with no parents in sight.

 

"Fire people?!"
He shockingly says as he sees the ferret run away.

"Hey!"
He rushes after him.

 

Voidfiller and the amorphous being shift down to a worm-like size, jolting away and dodging the blades before suddenly being picked up by a powerful gust of wind and flung into the air.

 

"In summary, giant robotic bee who keeps a railgun in each arm, and claims it's for science."


Alice hands her the cup of tea.
"What's that?"


Ihra stops and glances at him before slowly stepping closer.
"Can I help?"

That seems to be Maqo's native element, another stronger gust slamming them down.

He seems to be running after what looks like a fire station, though... some people are actually on fire.
"There, don't touch them."

 

"That seems...extreme." Gil says.


"Huh? Oh, it's just a smartphone. I haven't needed one since I made my helmet, but...that got destroyed." Abigail says.


"I-I-I lost my m-m-mummy a-and I h-h-hurt my kn-knee." The child sobs.

 

Both worms form back into standing bipedal forms once they hit the ground, and both start to make a break for the bag, going different directions around Maqo.

 

"What's worse is that it's Lady Idhaenna's personal adviser."


"How human." She mumbles.


"Do you know where she went?" She asks, gently running a claw over the child's knee, the wound healing immediately.

Maqo uses the blade to yank the bag and a piece of the ground airborne, going knife-first after one of the worms.

 

"What the hell?!" He thinks.

He runs left and right, trying to not touch any of the people around him. He doesn't want to get set on fire, but he also doesn't want to lose his momentum.

 

The ferret stops just short of a wall, the firemen and fire-beings giving you strange looks.

 

A worm no longer, the targeted being focuses on evading Maqo, while the other creates a lengthy pole and pole vaults up the the bag to snatch it.

 

"How does it negotiate with anyone?" Gil asks.


"I know, it doesn't even have a maginet connection. It has their slow internet," Abigail groans, "I was going to ask Stephanie to help me make some new armour, but she's not around."


The child shakes his head, still crying.

 

He moves over to the ferret.
"Where to now?"

 

“Give it what it wants, or it will tell Idhaenna that there’s trouble and request permission to use any means possible... and she usually grants it.”


“Why not Ruby? She’s up and going again.”


“Do you know when she went missing?”

“We could go to the jail people. They’re sort of scary, though.”

Maqo cuts the pole in two with a dagger wielding disembodied arm, still chasing the other worm.

 

The other creature leads him on a chase, while the one nearer to the bag just lifts the ground up to meet his feet as he runs over to snatch the bag.

 

"Rather not then. Somewhere peaceful, wih pretty looking people maybe?"

 

"That doesn't sound like an effective method of negotiation." Gil says.


Abigail pauses for a moment.

"I...I feel like things would be...awkward between us." Abigail says.


"A-A-An hour ago." The boy sobs.

 

"Well, we inspire to live up to our reputation."

 

“Like a garden?”

“Killing everyone you see doesn’t get old? Or lonely, for that matter?”

“If there’s nobody left standing to stop it, it always gets what it wants.”


“Psh, of all things you’d think of to contest that...”


“Did she leave you here, or did you get separated?”

He detaches his other arm, lunging to try and soul-tackle the creature going after the bag.

 

"Nobodies been able to stop it?" Gil asks.


"Part of me has a strange connection to her, and another part wants to murder her. I'm still getting used to...being me." Abigail says.


"W-W-We got s-seperated." The boy says, crying more.

 

He succeeds, but immediately, the creature he was chasing races for the bag, doing the same tactic of raising the ground benethe him to get to it.
