Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

You'll be fine. Near the beginning of the RP I killed 3 powerful mages, fell asleep nearly dead, and brought myself back into the waking world by shocking myself awakle with lightning spell.

 

*Vwoop*

You teleport into a ridiculously grand chamber, with massive statues of this dumbledore-esque man with a large stave. The scale of it eclipses even the hall that you were in during that one dream the other day, and you're pretty sure that said hall belonged to a god.
A torch-lit path lights up, going from your position all the way to a normal door on the far end.

It isn't very hard to find an alley to be alone in, as this is a very densely-built market and people seem to want to ignore you. You read the invisibility book in peace and quiet, although it strikes you as a little too quiet for an alleyway just off of a large street.

Hey, at least it's not as bad as that Bloody Goose.
I mean, it's still terrible.

The inn is mainly populated by low-tier mages, and has various herbs and flora growing around it. There are strange liquid stains all over the place, and scraps of food litter the ground. Both men are here, the one you were tailing and the cripple.
The first man catches a glimpse of you out of the corner of his eye, but acts like he didn't. They converse for a few minutes, although you cannot hear exactly what from the other side of a loud room, before trying to inconspicuously retire upstairs. Keyword "trying".

 

I walk to the door and knock on it

 

If I learned the invisibility spell then I use it on myself, if not I just go to some diferent alley.

 

It creaks open, giving you a view of a rather strange office.
Various mechanical and magical items litter it, making random noises and glowing random-er colors.
The entire room is bathed with an incredibly warm light, one that makes you feel ever-so-slightly more comfortable, and a fireplace crackles off to one side. The general cluttered feel of the room is contrasted by the actual desk, which is an empty table built low to the ground with cushions on either side. Almost abruptly, the theme goes from somewhat cozy to ominous due to the man sitting at the table, a spiry old fossil with gleaming spectacles and an arm-fold worthy of the greats.
He is completely silent.

You exit the alley, trying to find another place to finish your book when you look out into the street and oh an ambush ok.

Spoiler: I'm putting this bit in a spoiler because you glancing down here'll ruin the impact/joke above

The street has been cleared, and around three dozen guards circle the opening of the alley. A glance above shows multiple mages and assassins on the buildings above, and more guards and specialists are constantly flooding into the street.
"STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!"
"Don't move! We can blow this place up at any time! You're under arrest!"

 

Kae decides to have some leisurely time and just watches them struggle for a bit.

 

Dez:"Sorry to interrupt, but you looked like you would be the smartest person here, so can you help me with a little dragon problem?"

 

"The hell did I do?"
I ask rasing my hands into the air.

 

Watching someone try to get a wheelchair up stairs is both hilarious and pitiful at the same time.
By the time they manage it, the sun is in a noticeably higher position, the first floor of the inn has way more people in it, and there are three other people at the door along with you covertly watching the inside.

The man remains silent for several more seconds, just long enough for it to become uncomfortable. When he finally does begin moving and speaking, it's with a strange, jerking motion that could be likened to that of a marionette. His voice is thin and raspy, but somehow manages to have authority nonetheless.
"A... dragon problem, you say? My.. my.. I will never run out of interesting people... will I? What kind of.. dragon problem?"

One of the guards raises an eyebrow to an absolutely ridiculous height.
"The hell did you do? You killed a civil servant, that's what! Now walk out slowly and don't try anything!"

 

Dez:"Well it's right now sleeping in the pet store and is charmed. It almost mauled the owner to death and will keep trying to kill him when the charm ends, so I came here to find out if there is any way to make it permanent"

 

"Bullshit. I didn't do anything. You clearly got a wrong guy."
I look for any sewers nearby.

 

"Uh, hi there," Kae says directed to the other three people. "Who are you guys?"

 

"You could... hire somebody to kill... it. That or we could... send it to a holding.. pen."

There's a manhole right in front of the first line of city guards.

The loud guard in the center looks at one of the assassin-types standing on a nearby roof.
Guard: "Marcel?"
Probably!Marcel: "Tracked him all the way here, it's not the wrong guy."

"The priceless Three-Eyed Jewel was stolen from my wealthy client, and I've followed the main suspect to this inn, where my intelligence sources say a sale may be taking place."

"Somebody's distributing black-market goods through the sewer system. I've tracked down a long list of clues that lead to the young woman sitting at the counter there. I'm actually just waiting for her to finish eating."

"There were two creepy people and another creepy child standing at the door. I wanted to figure out what their deals were, which I guess I have for 2 of them. What about you?"

"I'm following two people who murdered a person earlier at another tavern." Kae then fishes out the broken shard. "Is this part of your Three-Eyed-Jewel, sir?"

 

Dez:"I don't know if the owner would like that, he sent me here to get it permanently charmed. Trust me un my opinion killing it would be a lot easier."

 

Thorston: "No need. I can come back to pick it up myself."

 

I jump to my feet hands touching the pavment.
"Allright, I give up clearly I was bested!"
I put the bomb on the pavement, and like a cheetah jump backwards then detonate the bomb.
If the hole I just blew up managed to lead to sewers, then I jump in. If not then I continue blowing up the road.

 

"So it's a 3 for 3 weirdness magnet, huh? I like this place, don't blow it up." says the third man, as he enters the building.
Jewel Hunter: "No, sadly. The one I'm looking for is made mostly of sapphire, as it is an actual jewel instead of... the broken remains of a stone lance spell, judging by how it's formed."
As those two finish speaking, the murder men finish their slow ascent up the stairs, leaving sight, and you hear an ominous crackling and rumbling to the south. Ground shakes a little, too.

"There's a spell I can.... teach you. Weave... Knot, it's called... Though I... would wager you already know... of it, seeing as... it is cast on you... already."

You blow up the entire paved section of the street, causing explosions for miles outward into the city.
The sheer force of the explosion leaves your ears ringing, levels quite a few shoddily-built buildings around you, and kills the majority of the guards.
The street being vaporised in the explosion, a massive portion of the sewers is now open to the air, so there's that problem solved. (or not)
Oh and also something about mass death and hysteria.
The currently living guards (like 4 of them) probably want to kill you, and with your stunning 1 vitality and broken/mauled self on the ground, they might actually have a fighting chance.

 

"I do? What spell is linked in me, and no I don't know it."

 

"Fucking hell!"
I drink a minor potion of healing (if I still have it and our glorious DM didn't forget to delete it from my inventory like I assume he forgot to do with Experimental Amulet which I blew up inside the mutted bear thing).
I then put bomb spell on the spear and hurl it at the guards. Wen it gets close enough I detonate it.
I try to get as carefully while still being in a hurry into the sewrs.
"If I'm going to die, I'm gonna haunt the FUCK out of Zakhar."
