Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Cause you can't sleep forever."

 

"Yeah." Sel nods happily.


"Cuuuuz I'm awesome." I say, smiling.

 

"Hands, please." They say, holding out the gauntlets.

"Well, yeah, but you can just be up for a little while and go back to sleep."

"Well..."
Pozel hands Sel the needle.
"I think I'm going to see if I can peek in and see what Gil does on that computer."


"I'm sure that's not it." She chuckles, lightening up a bit. "Seriously, though... I'm tired of you lying to me. I understand where you're coming from, but it's like telling an orphan you're their parents."

 

Sel takes the needle happily, looking it over.


"If you adopted the orphan, then you would be their parents." Artemis comments.

 

"That's your look on the subject. I rather be awake a little while longer."

 

He holds out his barren hands, palms up.

 

It’s smooth and shiny, the eye a bit wider than usual, but flexible.


Ihra sighs.
“Can you just let me have my moment? You didn’t even come out after to tell me you lied. You just kept quiet and hoped I would forget or something, and that’s what bugs me.”

They put the gauntlets on, and Voidfiller finds himself in the arena after a wave of unconsciousness.

“Why? It’s like midnight somewhere!”

 

Sel smiles, delicately inserting it atop her yarn ball.


"Humans are a lot worse than you might think, Ihra. They've done serious damage to the ecosystem on earth, they've slaughtered hundreds of guardians who stood in their way of construction," I say, sounding a lot more serious, "I'm pretty sure they'd do the same to you, too."

 

"I don't know if it's midnight where I live."

 

“Ugh, shit...”
Voidfiller orients himself, dizzily checking his gear.

 

It fits in easily, the tip poking between threads.


“I’ll go find out.” She retorts.

His satchel has anything he felt for, but nothing else.

The spirit holds a shortsword, bowing to Voidfiller.

“Probably is. Not the best time for dreaming, though. Just you wait until the four o’clock crowd shows up!”

 

Sel seems content, deciding to fly over to her wardrobe and open it.


"Well, I won't stop you." I say, sighing, walking back over to Artemis and Claire.

 

Voidfiller gets near him, staring.
“What’sa custom here? I’ve fought in several arenas.”

 

"Why is that?"
He confused looks at the ferrit, not knowing if he should be worried or not.

 

Pozel leaves her be, heading out and back toward Gil's room.

"Oh boy are there suddenly a lot of people! If I wasn't so small, I'd never get anywhere when four hits!"

"Death. No surrendering."

 

"No, I mean, what are you doing? When do we start hitting each other?"

 

"Oh.. Is there any place I can go to pass some time? It's a big place afterall."

 

Gil's door is closed, the room sounding quiet apart from the hum of a computer.


There's a knock at Alice's door.

 

A bell tolls, and the spirit splits its blade.
"About now."

Pozel knocks again.


She opens it, holding a parasol with a seemingly broken top as she works with some sort of tangled wiring.
"What?"

"Sure, the park, or the springs, or the dome are all nice places to linger. Which one do you wanna go to first?"
Sgavrinn moans, not intent on getting up again.

 

The door opens after a brief pause, Gil hovering in the doorway.

"Yes?" Gil asks.


Abigail stands outside.

"Yo, mind if I come in for some tea?" Abigail asks.
