Actually not. I rolled the owlbear encounter, and needed a reason for the owlbears to attack y’all but not eat Althaios as soon as he was downed. So I gave them some personality

Also, on a instinctual Level Bugbears and Owlbear are different. Owlbear are known for being so aggressive that even stronger creatures avoid them. Bugbears often change sides if it means food

Also, may I state that I personally think you should either kill it or let it go?

Owlbear are easiest to take if brought up from birth. So if you want a fully take one, you would need to wait for the mother to give birth then kill the mother or kidnap the child.

I'd assume that a female owlbear would be tamer, especially since she wanted to eat the meat and not attack us?
