Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Sometimes, but they usually just try to capture us too," Sel says, "I think they're more scared of someone else getting us before them."


"If they come here or I see them, they're dead." I say.

"You shouldn't do that." Claire says ominously, this time her voice sounding more foreboding.

 

"Calm down, buddy. You did good."

He pets Sgavrinn on his head, letting him rest. He then looks over at the ferret.
"So.. where are we?"

 

“Why? They prick ya or something?”
He says, not looking up from his stuff.

 

“That’s... really dumb.”


“If you can’t bring yourself to respect me, I’m not respecting you in return.” Ihra says, serious. “I’m tired of being lied to.”

“I dunno, I just run around here!”

Sgavrinn hums a bit.

“No, they kill you.”

 

"Oh. That's... a bit more concerning, but I intended to do at least a little bit of dying anyways."
He shrugs.

 

“Check it off your bucket list, at least. See you in the arena!”

 

"See ya."
Voidfiller looks up to smile and nod, then goes back to searching himself.

 

"I thought you said we were going somewhere!"

 

"Well...not for us." Sel says, looking a little sad.


"Sometimes you need to lie to people, Ihra. You can be quite overprotective to the point of your own harm at times." Artemis says.

 

"I mean, yeah, it's like the automassacre all over again, except with fae instead of us. I... wish I had some words of comfort or something other than - oh. That sucks."


She rolls her eyes.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm going to go find Sgavrinn."
Ihra tosses you a metal flower, not yet in bloom.
"Found this with a note that said it needed to get to you. Maybe it'll lead you to a new best friend you won't have to lie to." She pouts.

"We are! This is a city, just look around! There's things everywhere! You could go visit anyone and there's so many people, I can't count them all - well, I can't count, but that's beside the point - and they're all different kinds of things and they all come and go! Well, I think they do, I never really stay in one place, it gets boring. We should go visit a cafe, all those people in houses will still be there later anyways!"

Sgavrinn lets out a moan.

The spirit heads off to the arena, a few guards keeping an eye on Voidfiller.
"Don't lose track of time."

 

"I mean, I guess. I do want to know if it is time for me to wake up though."

 

"How much do I have left?"
Voidfiller reaches into a satchel by his side, digging his hand around.

 

"Why would it be time for you to get up? You just got here!"

"Five minutes."

 

"Oh. Thought I had more time. Thanks."
Voidfiller walks off towards the arena, eventually taking his hand out of his satchel.

 

"I have people in the other world. You know, the one that isn't sleeping."

 

Sel just smiles lightly, trying to brighten the mood.


I sigh, getting up and walking over to Ihra, before hugging her.

"I'm sorry, alright." I say sincerely.

 

Pozel sighs, making another nanobot needle.
"...Anyways, we've got each other now, right? Until I go back home, at least. You've still got your other friends."


She rolls her eyes, hugging you back.
"I don't know why I still put up with you." She admits, wiping a tear.

"But being awake is tiring! Why would you ever do that?"

The guard nods, saying nothing.

The arena winds up being a minute's walk away, with a few other guards silently pointing Voidfiller towards a rater obscure entry that takes another minute to get to.

 

He keeps making his way along, content with what he has on him.

 

After another minute of walking, two guards holding odd gauntlets stand waiting by a gate into the arena.
"Are you ready? You'll feel a bit dizzy, but when it's over, you'll wind up back here. Clear?"

 

“Yep. I’m ready.”
Voidfiller says casually.
“Do your thing.”
