Lycan: Don't mind the bear... thing. It passed by us earlier and din't seem to care much about us. I'd suggest not to anger it, for various reasons, of course.

Lycan moves forwards a bit.

Lycan: Well, a displacer beast! Shame I have to kill it, reminds me a bit of myself.

Lycan then casts Guiding Bolt on the displacer beast
Attack Roll: 17+4 = 21
Damage Roll: 6+1+1+2 = 10 (and THERE'S the low rolls I've been waiting for)
Also, next attack on the displacer beast has advantage, assuming it hits.

I mean.. I'm a cleric. I'll get to the healing after the chance of imminent death passes over.
