One of my replacement characters is actually him, having taken Alas's money and used it to buy a better life for himself. He eventually became a cleric (or possibly paladin) of Tymora, using Alas's locket as his holy symbol.

Random thing, since nobody's doing anything: As the overflow campaign has taught me, Chaos Bolt is a surprisingly good spell. The Sorcerer there rolled literal maximum damage on the first hit (8 + 8 + 6 = 22), causing a second bolt to appear and hit another enemy (technically the same one, but still...) for even more damage.

 

Chaos Bolt + Twinned Spell

 

Twin Chaos Bolt and Fire Bolt. Also, take 2 levels of Fighter and Action Surge to add another Chaos Bolt.

 

Wait, if you have 4 SP and use action surge, can you use twinned spell twice?

 

No, wait, I confused Twinned Spell with Quickened Spell. You probably could Twin Chaos Bolt + Action Surge + Quickened Twinned Chaos Bolt + Fire Bolt.
