Why Hasn’t The Map Been Updated Yet?

The last major update was Dec. 3, nearly 4 months ago and the map still isn’t updated yet. I find this odd because the last time it was updated they just covered the unreleased content. It’s not that big of a deal, but certain parts of the map changed drastically like Troms so it would be nice just to look at the map.

Considering how they seem to have a fairly regular schedule of one major update every 8 months, I think we can expect the map to stay as is until august

 

Map is loading very long. And making giant black box again? No, they are too lazy for that and making it will be laggy. So map will be updated when Road To Dern comes.

 

I thought the lag was just because of the service they were using for the map.

 

But they usually update it after a month or so of the update’s release. I remember Salted said in the AMA that they were waiting on Jumla for something. And the new content can’t be THAT big. Everything is supposed to fit into a rectangle.

 

Just imagine: you are creating a giant box with size of Corkus. Yeea its a rly laggy thing. And imagine GIANT 3D map with size like 90GB+ and your computer loading it to internet.

 

True, but I thought Dern was supposed to fit into a rectangle on the map, so it technically shouldn’t have grown out that much. Plus if this was much of an issue then they wouldn’t add more content then or remove the map entirely :-/

 

I agree. I wanna see the new Mt. Wynn, Ragni, Troms, etc. I think they're waiting till 1.18 though. From what I've heard the landscape of Dern is done, so hopefully the update isn't too far off.

 

Four months already since 1.17 released? Damn. Time flies.
But yes, the map hasn't been updated most likely since it reveals new content.

 

I think Landscape is done since Corkus came out, but now buildings are done too I think
