So in the recent changes...
color codes go removed from guildchat D:
WHY JUST TELL ME WHY, they were so fun to use...
what problems were they causing to get removed....

I'm honestley a bit sad now D:
I really enjoed using them,,,

How do you peoplefeel about this change

They were nothing more than a bug to begin with. Not an intended feature.

 

Because it was a bug and it could get you banned.

There are countless examples of games that had bugs that became features. Removing something from a game just becouse it was a bug is not a valid excuse. If it was causing harm to th game or was giving someone unfair advantage then it would make sense to remove it.

 

It wasn't meant to be there in the first place.

 

Creepers weren't meant to be in minecraft in the first place

How could it get you banned ?

 

Being an unintended feature is a valid enough reason for it's removal. Being a bug within the main code, across several other features only makes it worse.

Abusing or exploiting bugs, glitches or other unintended features is against the server rules. In order to keep the rule consistent, it needs to apply even if the harm caused is very minor.

That is correct, but the bug was fixed upon it's discovery. Therefore, all it ever did was give inspiration to create something entirely new. If your logic applied the same way as it does here, creepers would be nothing more than untextured pigs with wrongly orientated body, and no actions of any sort.

 

Might have been harmless but it still counted as glitch abuse, A lot of people failed to figure that out.

 

It couldn't, using color in guild chat couldn't get you banned, however using it in global chat could because it could've been misunderstood by newcomers and could be abused by tricking them into thinking you are an admin or something of that kind because you write in red.

 

not to mention i got screenshots of jp using color in chat so i dont think its bannable

 

Yeah, they're gonna ban the admin. Fuck.
