Necromancers are CR 9. Due to action economy and stuff, you could probably take one on with minimal losses (except for maybe blue turning into a zombie birb)

Had. Why would an Owlbear decide to attack non-downed characters? What's their motive for fighting us? If they want food, they can keep Althaios and join us for reliable access to eating our latest murder targetsenemies. Unless they're mindless robots with beak/beak/claws?

 

You keep forgetting that they're monstrosities, not simple beasts. The primary theories are that they're abominations created by misuse of magic, or that they originated from the Feywild. Either way, they're bloodthirsty predators by nature.

 

True, but that doesn't change what I'm saying. Predators hunt for food, not sport. I'd guess that they'd probably eat a downed character. Why would they keep attacking Heat or something over eating Althaios?

 

Because large creatures may steal their food.
Also we have weapons.

 

Why does it sound like you want Althiaos dead?
