He pauses for a moment to let it all sink in.
"Well, you sound like a good and honest person, I'll give you that. If I understand correctly, you drain magic from your surroundings, right? Does that include people?"

He looks at his hand.

 

”No.” I reply. ”Living creatures that are capable of being magical have too much consciousness while alive, and when they die, the magic leaves them.” I take a short pause. ”You’re strong in magic. But I can’t determine it’s nature.”

 

"Then that's fine. As long as you don't take away the magic of those who have it, then I'm willing to help. Wouldn't be fair now, would it?"

 

"Monster." He mutters as he turns and runs. The other two thugs are still on the ground, they've stopped screaming though.

A bartender come to you table with you drinks, but she's not the same girl. She stares at Sekin for a bit before turning around quickly and walking away.

 

"Wasn't one to chat it seems. 'Tis a shame."

He grabs his beer and holds it up.
"Cheers!"

 

I turn to them and say "Now what should I do with you?"

 

I try to sense if she uses any magic.

”Well, I guess she was a bit strange” I say and take a small sip of my drink. ”Maybe I should tell you the ways of finding artifacts?”

 

He takes a sip from his beer.

"Artifacts? Whaddaya mean by that?"

 

”They are powerful magic items, holding great power. Their magic can be drained and used to controll the Void. They are the objects I search.” I reply. ”They are hard to locate however. Many have been created by people and can be found in various archives. These, are however quite difficult to enter for me, especially the deeper parts where the oldest texts are found.”

 

"In that case, you came to the right guy. I used to enter many buildings through the smallest cracks in the walls. Don't ask me why, but I did."
He smiles.

"So, I could help you with that part. But I refuse to injure innocents."

 

”Oh no. No innocents will be hurt. I myself also have some tricks to enter through the wall.”

 

"And what do I get from it? Cause I'm sort of risking my life to help you."

 

”Well, what do you want to get from it? Money, might, power? Or do you search for revenge, another favor? You choose.”

 

"Money is always an option. Ofcourse, doing good doesn't have a price."

He empties his glass.
"Tell ya what. You'll be paying me along the way. Some things are dangerous and would cost more, some things can be bought for free, it depends on what we're doing. How about it?"

 

”That sounds very good indeed.”

 

"Alright. I'll think about it for a couple of days and then I'll come back to you. Where can I meet you again?"

They both moan softly. A shout rings down the alley, but you dont see anyone.

 

"I'll give you a chance to redeem yourselves" then I just turn pick up my sniper and leave them going to an area I'm less likely to get robed in

 

”I would suggest this place. I’ll be here again in 3 days.” I say. ”But now, let’s enjoy our drinks.”

 

"Agreed."

He waves over at the maids, holding up his empty glass.
