Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I make the mistake of having empathy for other people. Wait, who's Icwas?"

 

There's a chisel, mallet, a few bottles of what looks like water, and a cloth. There's also a shelf lined with flashlights and batteries.

He's quickly bored; most of the audience seems fairly bored as well.

"Then why don't they just start with full scale experiments?"

"I don't see how that's a bad thing. Everyone who isn't a demon seems to be just fine with it."

 

He tries making a telepathic link with a guard.
“Hey.”

 

"They sort of build up to those. Plus the smaller ones are still interesting." Kia says, watching the TV.

There's another crash of thunder outside, the rain seeming to get worse.

 

"Yes?"

Pozel seems a bit nervous.
"I hate wet fur..." He grumbles, mostly to himself.

 

“What’s a guy gotta do to get in one of these matches?”

 

"I can't fly in the rain." Kia comments.

 

"Yeah, looks like a miner's gear."

He investigates the items, checking if there might be a name written on one of them.

 

"Everyone that isn't a demon doesn't tend to like me."

"Well except you anyways. Your surprisingly calm for someone standing in the same room as a flesh eating demon that can kill you at any second."

 

"Be dead, or rise through the ranks. You don't look like much, though."

"Well, fear is pointless at this point. It's like being scared of a sword stuck in your body."

No name, but there is a hook that could be used for hanging a uniform.

"Are water fae able to?"


Ihra pokes at the palace barrier, half-distracted with trying to catch raindrops with her tongue.

 

"Yeah, their wings are pretty much made of it." Kia says.


The barrier rejects her pokes with quite a bit of force, though strangely it seems to let the heavy rain through.

Ihra hears someone coming up from behind her.

 

"How do they fly, then?"


She doesn't bother turning, still trying to catch raindrops.
"Heuuoh?"

 

“Where’s a guy gotta start?”
He ignores the comment.

 

"I'm not sure, it's some kind of weird interaction they have with the air," Kia says, "I'd guess more magical levitation than anything."


Ihra hears a strikingly familiar, and rather shocking, voice in response.

"What are you doing?" Abigail asks, confused.

 

"Sign up with Emerald."

"Magic... right."


Ihra jumps.
"Uh... aren't you dead? Or, like, allergic to rain?"

 

"Still don't understand it?" Kia asks.


"She's actually been alive for a while." Artemis says, holding a wooden umbrella over Abigail.

"Turns out when we killed Abigail's nobody she was revived in Gaia's Garden." I say.

"I still can't believe what we saw there. I hope us getting thrown out was the last of it." Abigail says.

 

"It's like an answer to anything that seems strange."


"Wait, you pissed of Gaia? Why?"

 

"Pretty much." Kia says, amused.


"Well, we sort of went to see her to tell her we were leaving and, well..." I say, seeming conflicted.

"She was with Mortius, and he was alive. Like, he didn't look skeletal, he looked like a living god." Abigail says.

"When she noticed us she sort of warped us out, and I woke up in my forest." Artemis says.

 

"Hmm, no uniform. Maybe our host is away for a while?"

He heads back outside and heads in the direction he hasn't been to yet.

 

"So, any of these myths could be made to look fake or real, and the viewers would be none the wiser?"


Ihra says nothing, reaching out to Gaia.
"Miss Gaia? Hello?"
