I put on the cloak and take the stuff. Is the staff like an Arcane Focus? Also, I'd like to see if I can understand what the flasks contain. I'd also like to unfold the papers.

I was hoping that it is an Arcane Focus because Liun (I think) lost his.

 

The cloak feels surprisingly comfortable.

What do you mean by understanding what the flasks contain?

The papers have a message written in an odd language. They're also dated - the first one is from six days ago, and the second two weeks ago.

Paper 1 (from six days ago):

Aakkalak, I trust you've been gathering the components to bring to Kennard. While you're in the area of Medina Village, find Val'tash and kill her. The mineshaft she's in should be a perfect hiding spot until you can return to Radobaan Peak. We should be able to complete the ritual soon, if you can gather the components. Return to the drop point at Radobaan Peak, on (tomorrow), to bring me the components and for another update on the mission. Take care, my son. Our ascension to power is nigh.

Paper 2 (from two weeks ago):

Aakkalak, I trust you with this great duty. We are to usher in a god - a new god, one that shall make us his champions. What you must do is gather up the ritual components, which we shall bring to Duke Kennard. It disgusts me to have to work with the humans, but this shall have to do. If he has been chosen, then so be it. I've already told you what the components are, so go out and gather them. I will have my men and those of Kennard watch the news to hear about your progress.

What are you doing with the Arcana check?

The staff is an arcane focus. Even without using Arcana or a spell to identify it, Aakkalak was casting his Sorcerer spells through it.

I pluck 1 feather from his wings for memory and take a look at his armor

 

Erevan: "Hey Liun! I this staff is an Arcane Focus. You needed one, right?"

I think it was to see if it was a Focus, but could I use it to see if the contents of the bottles is magical?

Erevan: "Uhhhh can anyone read this?."

 

His armor is studded leather statistically (12 + DEX modifier AC, light armor), with fancy shoulderplates and a metal decoration on the chest piece. It's sized to fit Aakkalak, and has holes for wings to go through.

 

What is your current armor?
