What? If you could travel back in time it would be super useful, as long as you are the same person you were back then but just with more knowledge.

 

I think he means that physicists are fine with forward and not backward because, in theory, forward is possible, but not backward. If I remember correctly, at least.

 

Obviously forwards time travel is fine.

Backwards time travel basically ruins everything.

 

It does make for a good video game, though. Just don't think too hard about how you have two copies of the same robot in 600 AD (for reference, the robot joins your team in 2300 AD near the beginning of the game), where one is planting trees while the other is with your party.

And if Schrodinger's Cat holds true, there's a chance that an unfortunate event could've happened recently in an alternate timeline that put us in a state of limbo between being alive and dead.

 

But seriously, Chrono Trigger is a great game.

He gestures his staff forward, pointing it away from him, and a, well, gust of gale-force winds blows out from him in a line that I'll show on the battle map. Erevan, Niryes, and Liun must all make Strength saving throws to not be pushed away. Knaal automatically fails, because he's unconscious, and I'll roll the saving throws for the non-PCs.

Val'tash braces herself with her staff, although the gust keeps coming. Her hood-shawl-thingy flies off and hits the wall.

Saelui, however, was not so lucky. She's blown backwards into the wall and ground against it, taking 6 damage.

 

I don't get a failure right, since gust of wind deals no damage?

 

By default, it doesn't. However, hitting a wall or Liun might be liable to cause some damage.
