If you have not completed LI before, replace the DFN with Gigabyte and the DSB with Back-Up Plan.

Assign extra skill points to defense and then intelligence.

With the Infidel, also carry an Ignition with 2 T6 fires and any tertiary weapon of your choice (that does not do fire or water damage).

The defenses and life steal keep you alive I'd imagine. Since the weapon is super slow, the stealing chances are really high, and spamming spells while waiting for melee is much easier on lower attack tiers. Honestly I think the meta might shift away from faster attack speeds if people would realize the potential with these kinds of builds. Plus the high base damage has better elemental defense penetration.

 

Primarily using Ignition instead of Infidel buffs the and spells by over 1000, and nearly doubles the dps.

 

It most likely takes skill to use this build to its finest potential. Something some people don't realize about SOME builds are that they may require *skill*. But yeah I can see your Infidel build working on LI easily and realistically.

 

Yeah I see the posibility of that Infidel build and I think with skills, it can be good.

But still... I'm not sure about that damage

 

The base damage is high. That means it penetrates more defenses. Rather than putting a ton of damage out, it puts a constant low amount and regenerates a huge amount of the players hp to give more sustain. It's the slow but steady approach. Takes patience and skill. Mana regen isn't the only way to play. That's why I like to make builds which are out of the ordinary. They challenge people's perception of what can be considered good.
Speaking of people's perception; just recently I saw IceBreakerGamer's "New OP Earth Melee Assassin Build" and was reminded of the bland builds people still use (build they used for qira: https://wynndata.tk/s/FzlDPA with mana and agi pots). Generic earth melee quake spam build. I want to see people getting creative and pushing the limits. The builds that push the limits are not favorable because no one uses them, not because of an inferior damage output or other factors. The community remains pretty much dead set on using the same old same old. I'd love to get unused items in game and use them to solo end-game bosses to upload to yt, but I'm broke in-game and trying to get into college IRL, so wynn has sadly been one of the last things I can worry about. I have some doubt that these builds can solo LI just like everyone else. Even my Freedom solo was on the second try. No one build is perfect, and many builds are far more interesting than a generic gaea +attack tier earth slap melee build. The community can use more than just the currently 'meta' items, but it seems no one does. Infidel appears to have a low damage output, but no item should be underestimated. To put its piercing into perspective:
My freedom build with curse activated did 310 thunder damage over 10 bomb arrows and literally 0 in all other attacks to old Qira (1350 base def in all).
This Infidel build (using the calculator) gets an avg dps of 500 w/super slow melee and about 500 avg with all spells to old Qira.
