What Is A Necropost?

i am kinda confused about the necroposts, does anybody know what it REALLY means?

 

When a thread hasn't had any activity on it for a certain amount of time and someone comments on it to bring it back to the first page (no activity for around 30 days)

(Posting on a thread that is considered dead/or has no discussion; hasn't been replied to in approximately 30 days or more for no legitimate reason. The OP can request for an unlock.)

 

That rule is extremely weird and here is why.

But I can't, because I will be "necroposting".

So I can either:
1) Ask Juiced to "bump" it because then I am not breaking the 30 day inactivity rule and neither is Juiced since it's his thread (!? what kind of criteria is that?).
2) Make my own thread regarding pictures of pets. That way, we now have 2 threads on the exact same topic, topic is bound to die eventually, and then someone else will create another thread on the same topic.

Why am I not allowed to just post in that thread in the 1st place? Who came up with 30 days rule for necroposting? Do people even understand what "necro" is? 30 days is an extremely short period. PLUS threads auto-lock after 90 (maybe more, unsure) days anyhow. MY HEAD HURTS!

The whole rule is ridiculously stupid and needs a revamp. Why is necroing rule determined on a time stamp rather than relevancy of the information?

That was a legit reason to post in that thread and he still got served with a lock. And the irony is, OP can request an unlock and everything is going to be fine and dandy. What was he supposed to do? Make another thread? Why? Not post there? That's not what the forums are for.

The 30 days criteria is absolutely unnecessary, confusing, written badly and enforced even worse. Cause no is looking for a "legit" reason, they just look at the time stamp and go "hey, it's a necro, lock!". So many times I felt bad for people that got slapped with a "hey don't necro" when their reasons to post there were legit.

Anyway yeah I do agree necroposting should be changed a bit

 

Staff can't add stuff to the game, but always when I can change something, I pass to the mod team and spam them until I can get a lot of opinions.

Anyway, PM me stuff you think mods can discuss and I'll be happy to pass everything to the mod team!

It's a rule that was added when we removed the auto lock for threads (9/7)
Afaik we auto lock them again so that rule is kinda useless
