Those gun laws do sound good, it’s just that idk if this would work with the US. Besides size difference, the United Stares is very diverse, both geographically and demographically. This would especially be a problem with rural areas since services such as the police are hard to reach in time. The bare requirement for all states is to be 18 and not committing a felon, but that’s it. I think the biggest change should be to ban automatic assault rifles.

Ice Bear says that in Australia they banned all semi-auto guns so all rifles except the bolt-action ones and along with all pistols besides revolvers (they are single action or double action).

Ice Bear doesn't think they should because the majority of guns are semi automatic so it might as well be a nationwide gun ban Ice Bear says it would be hard to do and a forced buyback wouldn't be too successful in the US particularly because people really like their guns and some guns are unregistered so they would not sell it. Ice Bear says there is also the problem with criminals not selling their guns back and just keeping them. Ice Bear doesn't support this. Ice Bear definitely would support a longer waiting period to buy guns and during that waiting period sellers would be required to extensively research said person.

The Florida shooting was also in part due to the FBI over looking the shooter’s history and the guard not entering the school.

 

I think all automatic guns should be banned and you should have to pass a thorough background check to own semi-auto rifles. Pistols and the like are fine.
I don't think that it should be right for a state's law to override another state's law. It's ridiculous. It throws away the idea that states can make and uphold their own laws without having Congress tell them what they can/can not do. The 10th amendment states that powers not given to the federal government are given to the states (basically). So here the government is taking power away from the states while still letting the states have that power. That they’re simultaneously taking away. The power that Congress has taken away from the states (although the states are not completely without power in this issue - for instance, if Montana has laws against concealed guns but in Wyoming it's OK, it's still illegal in Montana. But it becomes legal in Montana if someone carries a concealed gun from Wyoming. This is my understanding of this law). It's completely nonsensical.

I’ll try to find the news source, but the sheriff or guard was too scared to go into the school, even though he was responsible for protecting it. The higher command was disgusted by him and the sheriff resigned after the incident.

 

Ice Bear says that fully automatic guns are pretty much illegal except those with a class 3 license which is VERY VERY hard to get only gun dealers and a select few can get it and these people haven't committed shootings. Ice Bear says there is already background checks for semiautomatic rifles, infact it includes all guns pistols bolt action guns and etc. Ice Bear says that more than just a mere background check is required to stop mass shootings and crime, such as how the background check failed to stop the church shooting and the Florida shooting these people passed the background check. Ice Bear says as of now background checks aren't that effective and there must be more improvements on preventing criminals from getting their hands on weapons. Ice Bear personally thinks that a mental assessment, background check, plus a long waiting period where sellers can research the person they are selling the gun to is a fail compromise, law abiding citizens keep their guns though the 60 day waiting period is inconvenient while criminals would have a harder time getting guns.

Ice Bear says more or less so like that besides giving a reason because it is a right. Ice Bear says a check every 3 years could work but Ice Bear is sure most criminals/crazy people wouldn't follow that law so it is a hindrance really.

 

I feel that a person shouldn't have the right to carry a concealed weapon unless you are required to be federal/state law. I have many family members that are in federal/state law enforcement and are required to carry concealed weapons most of the time. A civilian has no need to carry a concealed weapon. If they wish to carry a weapon, if should be open.
I also feel that assault-rifles shouldn't be sold to the public, as they have no purpose other than to take life as effectively and as quickly as possible. They aren't used in hunting, like shotguns, or in self defense/law enforcement, like pistols.
That's all I have to say.

I just wanted to state it, and didn’t know where to put it/reply. I meant that statement in general terms.

 

Ice Bear says the reason why concealed carry is a thing is that it enables people to defend themselves, yeah you can do it with open carry but what is so bad with concealed carry? Ice Bear says criminals couldn't care less if it is illegal to concealed carry so what is the point of it? Ice Bear also would like to know what is the whole problem with assult rifle what makes a rifle an assult rifle? What is the difference between a Ruger mini 14 and a ar15 they both are .223 rifles both have a 30 round magazine, Ice Bear says really the differences are cosmetic. Also the ar15 is one of the best boar rifles out there many people use them to kill coyotes and deer. Ice Bear says law enforcement at least the ones in Ice Bear's state keep an ar15 in their trunk.


Tldr: Banning concealed carry is pointless because criminals would still do it anyways.
Banning assult rifles isn't a good idea because the only thing that makes them an assult rifle is their magazine size so attack magazines rather than guns.
