Weapons will always get dicked purely because of curves. Legendaries and mythics have higher damage than rares which automatically makes them less appealing and less applicable. There's few cases where they're good to use, but other than that.. yeah.

Making rares compete with legendaries or mythics aren't gonna happen :/

Just cause here would be a more suitable thread for suggestions.

I think you guys should think a way to encourage more players to use rainbow weapons.The current problems for rainbow weapons are that they are bad against rainbow tank/bosses.
Builds that are rainbow tank are usually suitable for rainbow weapons.However, people tend to use single element weapon over rainbow just cuz it is way better to pierce through others/boss defense.

A player said: Mobs have weakness too though, so it can balance out. Also, you can use multiple weapons to counteract defences. But yeah, for Qira it's kinda annoying having to use bob's or whatever.
This is one of the advantage of using rainbow damage weapon( doesnt need to switch weapon cuz it deals each elemental damage)
However, this is also one of the disadvantages
Cuz you only deal like very little damage for each element.
People would rather switch to another single element weapon for better damage/penetration which is more efficient than using a rainbow weapon.

Sparkling Visor, and Insulated Plate mail could use a buff (Sparkling Visor is outclassed by Cumulonimbus and Ossuary, Insulated Plate mail just isn't very good for a defensive Chestplate, and isn't really worth it over stuff like Static Charged)
Pride of the Aerie, Gale's Freedom and Flashstep could use minor buffs (Pride of the Aerie could use maybe a health or air damage buff to separate it from Aries, Gale's Freedom could use a minor Health buff to make it a better defensive/support plate, and Flashstep could use a walk speed buff because they're too niche for most builds but not good enough for walk speed ones)
Subur Clip and Ambertortoise Shell might need a buff (Subur Clip is outclassed by LI items, Ambertortoise is outclassed by Shawl of Gaea)
Silt of the Seafloor, Stillwater Blue and Coral Ring could use buffs (Silt of the Seafloor is outclassed by Low World Greaves, Stillwater Blue just...sucks and Coral Ring also kinda sucks)
Sparkweaver could use a minor buff (just a generally weak defensive item)

 

I think Insulated Plate Mail is just fine.
(Not really for tank, but its good for countering hard negative defenses.)

 

Hard to argue with all dem arguments, eh?

 

Don't forget for armor/accessories that complement those weapons, I had a hard time trying to build a good Petrified Horror build as there were so little items that I could use it with. Items like the Rainmaker are easier to build around as there are quite a number of raw melee armor and accesories out there.

On the topic on items, I would like to see much more creativity in items, maybe add a helmet that works like Blade of Purity?

 

Well it's not exactly creativity to re-use the same concept.
