Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Was he one of those half-dragon looking things?"

The janitor watches you as you head outside. Fortunately, only one other person sees you and they don't give chase.

Thirty seconds later, you're outside and the moon's starting to set. Best figure out how you're going to get back to the island, because you probably won't have enough time to go through that whole power plant again.

Sometimes I wonder what I would do if I wasn't separate from you. Probably be hunted.

"Well... it was nice meeting you. I'm hoping to see some more magic, or at least spells. I didn't know it could be used for robots."

 

"Yeah, he was a draconian."

 

"Is he still around, do you know?"

 

"No, I don't think so. I would've seen him at some point, but I haven't in a while."

 

"That's too bad. I mean, I've seen those draconian things spar, and I'd think most of their lifespans are cut short."

 

"Well, they are in a war right now, so it's to be expected."

 

"Well, it just seemed strange that they'd fight each other in times of war. Shouldn't you keep your allies healthy?"

 

"Most of them are being mind controlled, by someone who calls himself the Hive Master."

 

"I mean, the ones all in the Void Palace. They have a whole room dedicated to fighting themselves."

 

"You're a somewhat mythical creature, you probably will."

 

"That's for training. It may seem like they kill each other, but they get brought back to life."

 

That and I'm a lot more aggressive than you.

She pauses.
"...What? Aren't you dead once you die? I mean, isn't the person is just gone?"

 

"Not if you're able to reverse time. Or be resurrected somehow."

 

"Yep. Many people would die before they would be able to catch you."

 

"Reverse time? How do they do that?"

And I'm not too keen on dying myself. So... probably good we're stuck together.

 

I shrug.
"Magic."

 

"If we go down, we go down together." He laughs.

 

"I feel like that's the answer to just about everything." She sighs, smirking.

Well, at least we won't ever die alone.

 

"Sometimes, it just is."
I smile.

 

"Yeah, I guess you can see it that way."
