Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie looks like she's just seen the corpse of someone close to her, stepping back in shock.

 

I pause for a bit.
"It's no big deal. That's how I like to treat people. As for all these guys? They're all just... greedy assholes. 'Cept for Jack."
There's a pause, and it seems like I'm going to say something, but I don't.

 

"What, did I forget to make sure all twenty four cores were in there?" Idhaenna asks, looking down.
"Okay, no... what's wrong now? Is EBB hiding in there?"

She hesitates.
"That's too bad. I wonder why everyone that has all the fancy machines and things are always so cold."

 

Shadow Stephanie seems short of breath, just looking at the box in pure shock and terror, before fainting.

 

"'Cause they always want more. It's a human thing."

 

Idhaenna seems worried.

The guards find Pozel carrying her back to the shadow palace gates.
"Excuse me? Miss Shadow Stephanie seemed a bit surprised by her... well, surprise. Do you have a spare bed?"
He doesn't seem to realize he's carrying the queen of shadows.

"That's sad. Do they know how cruel they can be?"

 

The guards glance at each other, before drawing their blades.

"What did you do to the queen?" One of the guards snaps.

 

"Humans? Very. Then again, so can other species, but it's a trend of humans to be self-destructive."

 

"She fainted, a-wait, she's a queen?!" He asks, surprised and suddenly scared.

"That's... really too bad."

 

"Give her to us and nobody has to get hurt." The guard says.

 

I nod.

 

He las her down on the ground in front of the guards, stepping back with his hands up.

"Well... onward?"

 

"I thought you were going to paint?"

 

"Not here, I don't have my canvas."

 

"Right, right, I just thought you might've brought something. Let's go, then."

 

"No, though maybe I should've."
She steps closer to you.

 

I go behind her to close the door, then start walking along the hallway.

 

She follows, leaving a little more distance between you and herself than usual.

 

I let her, though occasionally glance back to make sure she's there.

 

She doesn't stay a fixed distance like she did before, more looking around between glancing at you.
