Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Good."
I open the door into what looks like a giant children's playground mixed with a gym. Various equipment, books, and games are present, but some are a bit thrown around. There's an old corpse by the foot of the door, and several other corpses strewn about the room.

 

Shadow Stephanie just sighs heavily.

 

"I suppose you're right. It's gonna be difficult to get them out of the cave."

 

Is Ren going to try to pry it open like before?

Terrae heads to the Central Depertment to ask about falling crates.

 

"Who did you say did all this, again?" She asks, still watching her step.

Only if neccesary to peek inside.


"Good afternoon, Your Majesty. What can we help you with?"

Never said it was easy.

EBB opens a portal to Idhaenna's chambers, the goddess waiting with a glare on the kther side.
"EBB, you're late."
"I apologize, I failed to induce initial cooperation."
"Oh, so you're blaming her?"
"No, Lady Idhaenna..."

 

"Jesus, calm down, it's not EBB's fault. Don't expect your robots to run on some kind of efficient schedule when interacting with non robots." Shadow Stephanie says, annoyed.

 

"Nineteen. Another robot of my kind."

 

"It needed reprogramming a long time ago."
"They all died, though. My scans showed they are all dust."
"I wonder why, you silly robot, I wonder why..."
"Sarcasm detected."

"Did he do all this?"

 

Shadow Stephanie just sighs.

 

"Yeah. Knocked out the lights, too, but I managed to get them back up when the queen and I set this up."

 

"Anyhow, EBB's quirks aside, thanks for coming... and my robots are on a schedule, mind you." Idhaenna groans, pulling out a giant covered box.
"Is the present going to be opened?"
"EBB, go check on the progress of the arkships."
"Priority below interest in contents of presents."
"Override, interest is priority twenty three."
"Will return with report in thirty minutes."
"Twenty."
"Cancelling side trip to armory."
"Now."
EBB flies off, grumbling.

"Is anything still functional here?"

 

Shadow Stephanie smirks a bit, amused, looking at the box.

 

I shrug.
"Maybe. You can try it out for yourself, though there's not much in this room."

 

It's solid metal.
"Well, let's start with what isn't in the box - I'm not dumping EBB off on you, and you're getting the mech you used anyways because it's now soullocked to you."

"I mean, like, any of the other electronics stuff."

 

"My answer remains. They might function, they might not."

 

"Have you tried any of them? You know, out of curiosity or somethjng?"

 

"I might be able to convince her, but her husband is a different story."

 

"Not since I booted up the generator."
I admit.

 

"Can I deconstruct it for parts for research and reverse engineering?" Shadow Stephanie inquires.

 

"Maybe you can find something about why Nineteen went crazy?"

"You can have the blueprints, just a matter of threatening to rip a soul out of a CEO and you could have a few hundred blueprints if I felt that generous... but not quite that much. So, you get one. Not for the Nova Sniper. You don't have that tech yet."

Husbands tend to live with the motto happy wife happy life, so you probably have your work cut out for you.
