Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

As Rose starts to leave, her foot catches something.

A small voodoo doll shaped just like Rose lies on the floor, a pin stabbed through it's heart.

 

She smiles, then laughs.
"Did you make this doll, or is Stephanie already trying to get back at me?"

No response, still.
...Except for a whump as one of the fox structures fall over.

"Once you get out, you'll be just to the west of the lake. I'll meet you on the island in the middle come morning, nobody ever goes there."

 

"Show yourself."
He rushes towards the structure and looks around for anything.

(Also, 3000 pages)

 

You find... nobody, still. It seems that the building just fell over due to bad structure.


(Impending 60k hype, I guess)

 

"I would like to wake up now. I'm not liking this."
He pinches himself.

 

"Huh? What doll?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

Rose picks up the doll and shows it to Shadow Stephanie.
"Heh... she should be thankful I didn't kill her. Atavul had other plans for her, but of course, too many are blinded in the heat of battle."

It hurts, but it's not enough to wake up.

 

He lets out a heavy, and annoyed, sigh.

"I can't do anything. What am I supposed to do?!" He yells towards the sky.

 

Rose feels a sharp pain in her heart as soon as she touches the doll and her magic feels a lot weaker, giving her a dizzied and nauseas feeling.

"What were his plans?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

You feel a bit awkward screaming at essentially yourself.
...However, this is a forest, after all. Perhaps you can find some of the berries Sgavrinn had you eat to wake up.

She doesn't show it.

"Well, I would say the usual, but that doesn't mean much to you. So... she'd be thrown in an endless torture loop for his entertainment until he got bored with her, then he'd strip her of most of her abilities and send her off to fight on a planet that's essentially one big twisted gladiatorial spectacle... which is also one big endless torture loop because if she died, he'd just bring her back and make her fight again." Rose shrugs. "If she's already going after me, I guess she'd rather go through that? I won't judge."

 

"Maybe I could visit the spectral plane and wake myself up?"

"Or maybe search for Sgavrinn again."

 

Either course of action has been proven to work, so you're free to take either one.
...Not like anyone's going to stop you from doing whatever you wanted here.

 

"Sounds like standard practice for hell." Shadow Stephanie shrugs.

The pain in Rose's heart increases, and the doll starts to bleed, oddly.

 

He lays down and tries to focus on sleeping. He slows down his breathing and tries to fall asleep.

 

Rose lets the doll drop, spitting up blood in her hand.
"Ugh, really? Is there some way to talk to her? It's not polite to kill people you just met, and she hasn't even met me... I mean, if you want me to stop sparing you guys, there are better ways to say it." She growls.

The mossy forest floor helps with that, and after a few (long) minutes of laying there, you find yourself once again as a soul hovering over your body... which is in a pose that doesn't look too comfortable, all things considered.

 

"Are you feeling alright?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

As the doll hits the ground, the pin is pushed out of it, causing the pain in Rose's heart to reach extreme levels as she hears something demonic whisper in her ear.

"May all your deceptions and unions fail, 'till you save the one I love." The voice whispers, before the pain subsides, leaving only an ache in Rose's heart. Her magic seems to get worse, feeling weaker and less effective.

The doll suddenly combusts into a greenish-purple flame, burning away into ash.

 

"...May all your deceptions and unions fail, 'till you save the one I love." Rose says, looking at the ashes and shaking her head. "Hon, whoever the hell you are, I ain't the big damn hero in this crazy chain of events."

 

"I look so uncomfortable."
He hovers around the cave a little, taking a look at the sleeping bodies of everyone.

 

"That sounds like a hex, you might be able to break it by force, I know of a few skilled mages and enchanters." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"I'd rather consult Stephanie herself. Also to apologize... if I knew her bounds, I wouldn't have needed to use as much force as I did. Do I doubt she'll help me? Yes. Is that going to stop me? Weeeeell... her mother might."

The draconic couple are curled up (but not asleep), the white wyrm is watching the dragonlings try and get over the trench he dug, and the siblings and Anne look fairly comfortable, though only the siblings are asleep.
