Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

She keeps popping in every now and then, scanning the gate and guard, then the palace, then the city, then leaving... it starts out about once an hour, then turns to every half hour, then fifteen minutes, and so on.

"Well, you're in good company with a bunch of corpses in that aspect."
"Tuer, could you just be happy you're not dead?"
"You know I won't be."

 

"Just let him be. He did lose one of his sibling, I'm not judging."
He stands up and looks at Tuer.
"I could go and look for the other one. If that would make you happy?"

 

"I don't know where you'd start looking. I mean, you saw me in the snow, and I don't know how you found Cole."
"Shut up and relax, Tuer, geez."

 

"What do you want?" One of the guards eventually asks.

 

"I don't know this part of the land that well. The other side of the mountain is a peace of cake for me."
He looks at the centaurs.
"And seeing as your village was close to my home, it might be a good place to check."

 

"Where'd everyone go? I'm still stuck in my room until I get those crystals replaced and my mural repainted." She complains. "I'm sick of being stuck in one place, and I'm getting impatient."

"Pretty sure that burned down with the bulk of the everything else in the forest." Cole sighs.

 

"True. But the area hasn't disappeared now, has it? Your sibling might be out there somewhere."
He sighs heavily.
"Or.. you know, got eaten."

 

Both centaur choose to keep quiet, Anne curling up again as her flame intensifies.

 

He suddenly realises what he said.
"Uh.. um. But let's hope for the best."
He looks around, a bit frustrated.

 

"They were killed. Your repainting will have to wait." The guard says sternly.

 

"Who the hell did you let in that was that strong?"

"...That's all we can really do."

 

"It was more than just one thing. And they snuck in, we couldn't detect them until it was too late." The guard says, temper seeming to get worse.

 

"Hm. They sound like fun. Thanks, I'll ask Emerald if she has enough data to recreate a few." Xlentia says, curious, before going back.

 

"What!?" The guard shouts as Xlentia leaves.

 

She pokes her head back in.
"Well, are the crystals going to be replaced, or am I bringing my entertainment to my room?"

 

"We'll send some people right over." The guard says through grit teeth.

 

"There's reasons Emerald never keeps me waiting." She giggles, leaving.

 

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up."

"I'll start looking tomorrow."

 

A few cloaked Shadows soon arrive in the void palace library, heading toward Xlentia's chambers.

 

They feel watched, but it's impossible to say by who.
Xlentia's chamber doors are wide open.

"Don't be too hard on yourself."
"Don't kid 'im, Cole. It was too soon."
