"My name is Tyrinel Amir." The middle-aged man finally spoke up. "As I said before, a knight called upon me because of my miasma-related powers and healing arts. We were suddenly attacked by numerous witchfiends, and I faced a young boy who was controlling those beasts. He named himself Rey Beelzebub Farrenveitos, calling himself «Gluttony»."

James shook his head. "I haven't met any witch cultists at the least; I was fighting some witchfiends in a shelter before I was arrested."

Kayde sighed. "Okay. Let's put these information together. The 'Sins' all of us encountered numbers four: «Lust» Bellatrix Asmodeus Barialle; «Sloth» Rigel Belphegor Barialle; «Greed» Rikuld Mammon Kavenhaitos; and «Gluttony» Rey Beelzebub Farrenveitos. From their names, it is clear that these so-called 'Sins' follow the concept of the Seven Deadly Sins."

"Seven Deadly Sins?" Angela cocked her head, not understanding.

"They are also called 'Cardinal Sins', and they're said to be seven emotions or feelings that lead to a person to commit a sin, like murder or stealing." Kayde said. "These Sins are: 'Pride', 'Envy', 'Greed', 'Sloth', 'Lust', 'Gluttony', and 'Wrath'."

"So the ones that haven't appeared is «Pride», «Wrath», and «Envy»." Tyrinel sighed and leaned back.

"Oh, another thing." Archibaud spoke up. "During my fight with «Greed», a peculiar man suddenly appeared and interfered, later escaping along with Greed"

"Who was he like?" Rathius asked, his voice tense.

"Short black hair; he looked like any average person walking around in a street. He looked to be around eighteen or something, so pretty young. He had no noticeable abilities— but he had complete mastery over ancient Shadow magic; that my spirit confirmed. He could use spells that let him teleport and freeze time."

"I've also met him." Tyrinel said. "He meets the description you gave right now— he came to collect «Gluttony» too. Rey called him 'Shade', but apparently that's not his real name. He had this really strange feeling about him; something was up with him, but apart from his Shadow magic, he didn't seem strong at all."

"Shade, huh...." Rathius muttered, receiving questioning looks from Kayde and Angela. He shook his head. "Nothing. Anyway, I've met the Sin of «Pride» long time ago; he massacred my entire village. He named himself Acrux Lucifer Cythas, so I don't find a reason he should name himself 'Shade'."

"......" Kayde looked down. "Is that.... so. Anyway, the reason such monsters had been hidden from society up until now is because of «Sloth»'s 'Authority', am I correct?" Kayde again looked around. "To those who have fought these Sins— can you explain on exactly what they can do— their so-called Authorities and abilities?"

 

''Greed was able to create weapons at will and controle them at his will, he didn't appear to have any other abilities besides that but he probably didn't use them all''

 

(Aah. I wanted to keep Pride a secret until we went to court.)

"Sloth said his 'Authority' made him the strongest. I had cut him a few times, he fell into pieces, but didn't die. He's fast and strong. Also, he can create illusions. The images are fake, but the pain is real."

He stands up.
"Pride I don't remember. He destroyed my town and I was knocked out later."

 

"Lust, as we stated before, can make people go into a mad rage and can share wounds, not only hers" I wrap my hands nervously

 

"Funny, does are the same abilities I have."

 

Thanks. I don't have my laptop until tomorrow, so responding is difficult.

 

From tomorrow and the week following, I'll be on a trip. Sometimes it turns out I have more time to write than when I'm at home, but sometimes I don't get connections at all. Anyways, pls keep that in mind that I'll be away.

 

Then I might have made a character if you're gonna be offline for a week. If we're lucky, it's gonna be time enough.

The throne hall of the Arcuntar Royal Castle was present with over two hundred people divided into two groups, standing at the two sides of the wide hall.

There was a large platform at the furthest point of the room, on which wall at the center was a throne. Adorned with gold and red fabric, and the symbol of Dragon Kingdom of Arcuntar, it was the seat of highest power in all of Arcuntar Kingdom. However, the seat was vacant, as the Kingdom currently had no king. Two years ago, a mysterious and incurable disease attacked the royal family, resulting in the annihilation of the royal blood. Thus, the Dragon made a prophecy that one of five King Candidates would be made the next 42nd ruler of the Kingdom.

In the absence of the Royal Family, the Council of Wise Elders currently ran the country. They were seated in the seats allocated to the sides of the throne. To the left side of the hall were the Royal Knights from the Knights Faction in the Capital, all dressed in white formal knight's uniform. Across the carpet to the right side of the hall were the nobles from the Officials Faction, dressed in their formal navy-coloured clothes. And on the red carpets in the middle——

The three Candidates of the 42nd Ruler of Arcuntar Kingdom stood there, in front of the platform.

The beautiful auburn-haired girl and the head of the nobility Felodore House, Tristia Felodore.

The cool, green-haired young woman and the head of the Belstain House, Estelle Belstain.

The purple-haired girl and the head of Ordo Trading Company, Affrice Ordo.

"Now, if I may be so forward, I, Marvin Gildark, Captain of the Royal Knights, will direct today's proceedings." Spoke up a large well-built man in armour from the side. The Elders nodded to the Knight to proceed.

"Two days earlier, there had been a massive armed uprising in the city of Arcuntar Capital. Majority of the warriors involved in the uprising were killed or had escaped, the most dangerous ones currently detained in the Prison Tower. The attack occurred in various parts of town, and the overall casualties including civilians and knights is estimated to be over six hundred."

"That questions this city's barriers and the Knights' competence in guarding the streets!" Suddenly a middle-aged man cried from the Officials Faction. "Apparently witchfiends were spotted during the attack!"

"You're right, Lord Muttart." Marvin said, without changing his expression. "These witchfiends were the ones that caused the most damage. They had entered the city through unknown means. Tests were run on the barriers around the city walls, but they were functioning properly. We believe that this was a deed done by a certain herbalist living in the northern section, who studies witchfiends and is rumoured to be involved with miasma. We have him detained in the Prison Tower along with others."

"I hear that one of your personal knights were amongst those who caused the uprising, Lady Belstain?" One of the Elders, Miklotov, said.

"After all, they're demi-humans." Spat another Elder, Bordeaux. "Your evil hobby of hiring demi-humans worked against you." Estelle didn't reply, nor didn't even turn towards them.

"Those damn....." Estelle's knight, the werefox Fourier Argoyle growled from his position amongst the knights.

"Calm down, Fourier." The knight standing in front of him, a youth with long purple hair, turned and said. "Lord Bordeaux was amongst those who fought in the Demi-Human war 40 years ago. You can't blame him for his general dislike to demi-humans." Lucian Eulaus, Affrice Ordo's knight.

"It's as Lucian says, Fourier." Another youth spoke in front of the purple knight. He turned with his flaming red hair and looked at Fourier. "And Lady Estelle's demi-human knights have nothing to do with this time's attack. I'm sure that certain knight who have joined the uprising is the one to blame." Said the «Knight amongst Knights», Alexander van Hestiria. He was the strongest knight in the Kingdom, as well as current holder of the title «Sword Saint».

Fourier bit his lips and looked away. "I guess..." The image of Angela Serafina, the seraph girl who was now a criminal, flashed across his head. Fourier still couldn't believe that she was the one who massacred over a hundred civilians and knights two days ago.

"Although, I don't see Diabel in this conference. Do you know where he is?" Alexander said.

Lucian shrugged. "Indeed it's rare for him to miss a gathering. I believe he was injured in the uprising, and is currently in treatment. That's what I heard."

"Enough, Bordeaux." The one who spoke up, to everyone's surprise, was Tristia Felodore. She opened her fan in front of her mouth. "Don't get me wrong, fools. I only want to know of the reason why I was called upon this place."

"Yeah, she's right, ya know~?" Affrice chided from next to Tristia. "I'm busy, and I'm not here to argue about demi-humans or anything, right~? I personally hire many of 'em, and won't allow them being insulted in front of me, even if it's a member of the Elders." Affrice's voice became cold at the end of her sentence, quieting the hall. She looked around and snorted quietly.

Knight Marvin coughed. "Then if I am allowed to continue. Knight Alexander van Hestiria, come forth!"

"Yes sir!" The «Sword Saint» cried a response and walked to the carpet, kneeling down behind the Candidates. "Honoured members of the Council of Wise Elders, I, Alexander van Hestiria of the Royal Knights, is at your service."

"May I enquire of your absence in the uprising two days ago? I believe there was an emergency call for you to return." Elder Miklotov said.

"Yes, my lord. I was aware of the summoning, and was making my way in full speed. However, I was intercepted by a certain swordsman."

"A warrier enough to challenge a «Sword Saint»!?" The hall was filled with murmurs. The Elders frowned, looking troubled.

"In my incompetence, I failed to identify the enemy. However, his skills with a sword was beyond compare. Our surroundings were destroyed in our fight." Alexander said, bowing deeply.

"A knight from the Empire, perhaps?" Muttart growled.

"We are looking into this matter thoroughly, and have already sent investigators into the Empire. However, Knight Alexander is called upon for a different matter." Knight Marvin said, and turned a meaningful look at the Sword Saint.

"Yes sir." Alexander raised his head, and smiled. "I, Alexander van Hestiria, have completed my mission." He stood up, and gestured towards the door. Then—

The giant doors to the hall slowly slid open as the knights at the sides pushed it open. And in entered a small figure.

It was a petite young girl, who looked to be around only fifteen or so. She had short-cut golden hair and bright red eyes, and wore a grand yellow dress. As she entered with two servants holding her skirts, there were murmurs amongst the hall again.

The girl's appearance matched exactly with the old royal family— golden hair and red eyes.

Alexander moved to the side and bowed down to the young girl.

"Here is the fourth King Candidate for the 42nd Ruler of Arcuntar Kingdom— she had been found!" He turned towards to the Elder, smiling in triumph.

"Her name is... Lady Remilia!"

"Keh." The man spat at Marcus, who dodged. "Perhaps you do not know your place, peasant. Teach him a lesson."

Without speaking, the large man behind Marcus grabbed the back of his neck. With inhuman power, he lifted the hunter into the air. "Guah!" He cried in pain as the fat man came forward with a cruel grin.

"You're my property now. Know of your place."

The man placed his palm onto Marcus's chest, and he felt a massive electric shock travel through his body as the mana in his body was drained away. He saw the man lick his mouth gleefully and say, "Take him to the rest." before Marcus's vision went black.

When he came to himself, Marcus found that he was bound in his arms and legs by chains, and was lying on a damp stone floor. As he lifted his head, he was shocked beyond words when he saw the scene in front of him.

In the dimly-lit underground room, there were over two hundred men and women, young to old, chained in a similar way Marcus was. From their clothes and looks, Marcus slowly understood that they were citizens of the city aboveground.

Things took an unexpected turn when the six suddenly heard footsteps coming down the corridors outside the prison room they were in.

".....will I be allowed if I asked to join the conversation?"

There were numerous heavy clicks as the door to the room unlocked and opened. In entered a few figures.

The one at the front who spoke up entered the light. Rathius sucked in a breath. "Diabel." He muttered. The handsome blue-haired knight narrowed his eyes with a troubled expression. “Hello, Rathius.” He was no longer speaking with the hostility or coldness from before.

Behind Diabel was the Great Spirit Izanami in her human form; and behind the two were two more figures.

“Aaahaaa~. This is an interesting sight isn’t iiit~?”

A tall dark-blue haired woman entered, a shorter blonde female knight following her.

The woman closed one eye with a blue pupil, and looked at each of them with her yellow pupil on her other eye.

 

Marcus stands up, trying to get a better feel of his setting and what’s around him.

 

"Let me guess. You're here to execute us or ask us to do a favor."

 

"Or did you come here to tell us about how we did something horrible even tho we didn't?" I complete what the boy said in a sarcastic tone with a bit of sadness on my voice
