"Wha- They're my private thoughts of someone I love! And I figure I wouldn't have to specifically order you not to read my mind!" I say.

 

"Isn't the fact that I only listen to half of what you tell me the reason you get nervous around me?"

 

"Yes!" I say, frustrated.

 

She laughs.
"Oh, all the better I'm on your side."

 

I sigh.

"Yeah, it's why I want you to be in the agency too." I say.

 

"No, not in particular. Just wanted to know about the storm."

He nods.
"Thanks."

 

"Okay, why do you actually hardly trust me?"

"Yeah, no problem. You hanging in there?"

 

"Fear." I say honestly, shrugging.

 

"You could kick my ass any day you wanted to, what is there to fear?"

 

"I could, but you have knowledge of me. You know my strengths, my weaknesses, where I'll be and what I do. Knowledge is power, I can't hope to beat you when you know exactly how to beat me." I say.

 

"You forget one thing." Alice says, smirking.
"...I don't know how to kill."

 

"What, really?" I ask, surprised.

 

"Never even killed a fly." She says. "It doesn't matter how much I know, you could kill me wherever, whenever."

 

"So, you don't know how to like, slam your fist down on top of the fly?" I ask.

 

"Well, I know that's what you're supposed to do, but then it flies off."

 

"So you're incapable of actually killing anything?" I ask.

 

"W-well... I just don't have practice."

 

"I could always schedule some lessons for you if you want." I say.

 

"It's easier fitting in on Earth when I can't kill anything."

 

"Yeah but...humans are going to try and kill you." I say.
