Wifi Blocks Minecraft -_-

Welp soooo before anyone tells me, "you go to school to learn, don't play minecraft", I'm not even in school. I'm just staying in the boarding school for a compulsory one-month-long camp that everyone has to go through.

The wifi blocks Minecraft 24/7, come on! Seriously. Whenever I finish my homework I have no more purpose in life.

Since the minecraft launcher blocks VPNs as well, there's nothing I can do there :/

Pretty sure most schools block video games on their school Internet. You're there to study and use the computer for educational/researching purposes anyway.

Not here to judge you, but maybe study in school and play at home... :)

 

change your wifi connection to a static address and use google's DNS server instead of the automatic one. That should allow you to connect elsewhere. I only do that on my phone to use discord at school. It works on most devices. Just get your IP address from the automatic connection, then put that into the static address line and use the DNS you want. If someone else connects with your IP, you will have to change back to automatic then repeat the process. The router won't let you keep your static address if another device takes your spot.

 

buy 3G/4G on ur mobile and plug it in with a USB cable to ur pc . Done.

but school is for learning

although you are there after school, it doesn't mean they are gonna lift the blocks

it's not school. it's off the school campus (across the road) and all social media is allowed. apparently the management just has something against minecraft because roblox and other games aren't blocked. I'm literally the minority in there. everyone else just instagrams/snapchats the entire day

we basically stay in a hostel environment for an entire month, they block minecraft and allow social media which is pretty unbalanced, if you ask me. it's really pointless because i'm probably the only one who plays minecraft and all the other kids just spend all their time on anime and insta, yaaaaay.

it's not even like i'm that addicted, it's just that i have no motivation to do homework anymore :/

i don't think anyone else's going to use my ip, so that shouldn't be a problem, but where do I find the static address line?

Do i click on the wifi symbol, go to properties, and change the ip settings from auto (dhcp) to manual?

 

If the game is blocked, its blocked. Go read a book, or revise, draw, anything.

 

Play roblox then, it's a better game.

 

Well you can always play Snake by simply googling Snake (It's a game built inside Chrome so basically impossible to block).
