Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

btw I'm working on a little art piece of Gaia, and this time I'm actually doing something rather then writing one paragrph in a month.

 

You're blasted with the aroma of lots and lots of delicacies, cakes and buns and strange foods you haven't seen before. An older woman is at the counter, while you can hear sounds of someone baking in the back.

"No, no there is not. That's quite the windfall for you. Enjoy your fortune."

My art skills are shit, and I am very much looking forward to this.

 

"If you stick with me, friends, it shall be our fortune."

 

Eradius: "Do you have any cookies, I'd eat some right now."

 

"Now this just might be worth going back up north."

Baker: I think we have a few left. Either that or we can just make a fresh batch, but that'll cost you more."

 

Have you checked my post in our conversation? I posted the image of Gaia there.
"What kind of cookies they are? Chocolate chip? White chocolate? Wafers? Cookies with nuts? Cookies infused with souls of the damned?"

 

"Hahaha! In that case, friends, unfurl the sails and get ready to set sail!"

 

"Yes, no, yes, yes, and you'll have to wait a few weeks. Are you interested in buying any of them?"

The sails open and catch the wind, propelling you down the already-fast river with ludicrous speed. Rolof is now queasily lying in a fetal position on the deck, with his stomach having nothing more to give.

 

"Yeah. I'll buy the chocolate chip ones."
So... do you like the art?

"That's a gold coin per batch of 6, then."

"Sir, you do realize that's over 3 dozen cookies?"

 

"So over 6 gold, yes?"

 

"Yes, quite. I could probably give you a discount because of you buying that many, though, and just charge you the 6 gold."

 

"That sounds fine."
I pay for cookies, leave the bakery and head to the inn.

She hands you the cookies in a nice cloth bag, taking your gold before you leave the shop. Crossing the street, you arrive at the front door of the inn, seemingly void of activity as everyone has gone in while you were out.
The entire aesthetic of the place is extremely gaudy, lines with gold and marble everywhere. It's trying too hard to scream out "I'M FOR RICH PEOPLE!" and deafening everyone on the continent in the process. The inside of the building is no better, with a lavish reception, luxury chairs, and a massive gold-laced double-staircase lining the back of it.
Some guys are discussing something over a large map over y the seating area, but everyone seems to be asleep.

 

I go ask where my room is and eat a cookie. Also I think if it's possible to turn antimatter into cookies.

 

The clerk at the desk opens up a large book scrawled with various names and rooms.
"Let's see... reservation for 'old man in gaudy coat'... Ah, you're with that group. Second floor, room 23."

The clerk hands you a shining metal key with elaborate gold lacing and a massive number "23" pasted on top.

 

When is Thorston going to wake up?
