Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Alice lays down again.

 

Nobody comes to disturb Alice.

 

Ruby lingers a bit before realizing she should leave, heading out from the back door and racing back to Vexa's smithy.

 

The smithy is closed, and the air feels bitingly cold.

 

Ruby sighs, glancing around the area for anyone else.

 

There don't seem to be many people around, a few flakes of snow beginning to fall around Ruby.

 

She smiles a bit, relieved before trying to scan for any other mimics.

 

There aren't any mimics on earth, luckily.

 

Ruby waits near the smithy, using energy arcs to keep herself warm.

 

“What are these things?”
I whisper.

 

Ruby sees something flying in the snow, though their wings look oddly shaped, not as angelic as an Air Guardian's.

"No idea, they seem to infect and kill people, and use their corpses as hosts." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

I'll move foward.

 

“How delightful.”
I comment, sarcastic.
“So what should we do?”

 

You find a t-intersection. You could go left or right, but you can't tell what's at the end of either path.

She soulscans it, curious.

 

"I don't know, but I think Aj is trying to help." Shadow Stephanie says, pointing to the flickers of darkness randomly appearing in the distance.

It seems to be a guardian's soul, and it's untainted by hexes or voodoo.

 

Ruby waits outside, mostly waiting for the smithy to open.

 

“Alright. I’ll keep lookout.”
I start looking down on the ground for any creatures.

 

The guardian keeps flying about in the snow, Vexa eventually unlocking and opening the door and motioning for Ruby to come inside quickly.

There don't seem to be any of the creatures below, only a few splatters of blood here and there.

 

She blinks inside.
"Sorry, something came up."

 

I keep looking for some anyways, waiting.
