and I doubt the position will insta-kill you, just put you into death saves, and the party will obviously give you a health potion to heal you back up.

Even if it does, I think Paradox has the materials for Revivify

 

However, we don't know about the poison. It will activate at midnight, when we're all asleep. So Althaios will just go from being asleep to being unconscious and dying, with us none the wiser.

Really, I decided the bread was poisoned before Althaios ate any or anything, so I'm not purposely trying to kill him or anything.

 

Actually, his survival comes down to whether or not anything visibly happens when it takes effect. Like, say, writhing in intense pain for a moment. If so, then I or Heat can notice it due to our retaining awareness while sleeping.
