Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I continue walking until I get to the entrance, walking down the last hallway.

 

She tries to think of where to get everything on the list.

"Well... all right, I'll go." He says, squirming out from under the tree.

 

Shadow Stephanie follows, teleporting occasionally.

The market might be a good place to look.

 

This one is similar to the last two, doors and all. The main difference is the spectacle we come across only after half a minute of walking. There’s more corpses, six this time, all scattered in different positions and places on the group, expect for two, who have toppled upon one another.
“Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve.”

 

"Who were these guys?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

She looks at the list, not actually sure what to be looking for.

 

"Julia, Zack, Nick, Vincent, Cynthia, Angela."
I point to them as I list their names.
"Some were engineers, some were scientists."

 

There seem to be requests for flowers, mushrooms, apples, wheat, wine, a lucky rabbit's foot, maple syrup, and even a few gold bars.

"I'm surprised you can remember and recognise them all." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

“It’s more remember. They’re more recognizable when they’re fresh-dead.”

 

"So you're just taking a stab in the dark?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

“No. The corpses haven’t moved, at all.”

 

"Huh, I would've thought something would get to them..." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

I shrug, not bothering the corpses and moving along.

 

Shadow Stephanie cuts whatever flesh is left on one of the corpses, eating it before following you.

 

Unlike Candace's corpse, this flesh isn't burned. Just old.

"Twelve down, eleven to go."
I say as I walk.
"Ten, if we assume Annie's still in her room."

 

She copies the note before heading home, a bit yearning for sleep.

 

"I'm sure she's living it up in there..." Shadow Stephanie comments.

The elites still seem to be playing their card game, though Claire's fallen asleep on Artemis. Katie's head occasionally falls before jolting up again as she wakes up.

 

"She'd probably be warm under her covers if she was."

 

"Heh." Shadow Stephanie says, slightly amused.

 

I don't seem to have another comment, moving on.
