Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I nod, then keep moving on along the hallway.

 

Shadow Stephanie follows, keeping her gun held tight.

 

Eventually, before the doors finish, we come across another body. It's laying down on its back with a streak of blood from further down the hallway. It's also got a giant dent in the chest.
"Six. Curley. Well, his real name was Aton, but everyone called him Curley."

 

"Weird." Shadow Stephanie comments.

 

"Eh."
I shrug, moving on.

 

Shadow Stephanie just follows, glancing back at Curley.

 

Eventually we walk past all of the doors, some with names that Shadow Stephanie doesn't recognize. Though, there's a few more doors without labels, then at the end of the hallway, another door, this one completely metal.

 

"Is this where you were kept?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"Yep."
I open the door, and it turns out that it was already opened a crack.
It leads to a larger hallway, with even more doors on the sides. But this time, the doors lead into a windowed area, like something similar to an aquarium without water, and with doors to the tanks.

 

Shadow Stephanie looks for any other robots that didn't leave.

 

The first few tanks have what look like skeletons standing up. But they're metal, so it's easy to tell that they're supposed to be robots.
I start heading down the hallway more.

 

"You didn't activate these, right?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

3rd times the charm.

 

"No, they're off. The first few's batteries are broken anyways."

 

"You think any of the...more violent oriented ones would attack me?" Shadow Stephanie asks, though not nervous or scared at all.

 

"Yeah, expect no. Nineteen was the main violent oriented one, and he's gone. Any others were deactivated or missing when I got around to checking."

 

"Yeh?" She asks, distracted.

"Of course. There's no ladder up or down."

"I'm going to keep worrying, but you're welcome to put doubt of the unknown aside."

He tries to figure out if the crate would fit through.


"Thank you."
"We'll get started immediately."
"I need to let my family know that I'll be gone for a week or two."
"I should probably do the same..."

Sure enough, you manage to grab the ledge as you hear a door swing open.
"...Hello?"
"Who's out here?"

 

"Ah, ok. Why was he so violent anyway?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

"Oh, are you busy?" Artemis asks.

 

I shrug.
"Classic case of scientists fucking up, I can only imagine."

 

"Did you ever interact with him?" Shadow Stephanie asks.
