Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

After an extra twenty minutes, you're back where you started...
...halfway up the mountain with slide marks and blood streaks on the snow.

 

"Alright. We're back. Now we head back to the cave."

 

"You're bringing two centaurs into the home of the most murderous dragon in these mountains?" The dragon asks, hesitating.

 

"I don't know where else to take them. I want to atleast reunite them."

 

"You recognise that voice?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

The elites keep playing their game, Tirra's money slowly accumulating over time.

 

“It’s the general voice for announcements. It’s also Annie’s voice.”

 

"Don't bring them to their deaths. Figure something out." The dragon sighs, starting to dig up the rest of the way up the mountain.

Ruby eventually joins the group, watching them play the game.

 

"There isn't any place to go otherwise. Their home got burnt. And with the fight happening and such..."

 

"Another corpse, I presume?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

Victus seems to be on a losing streak, while Mortimer seems to win a little more often, Aeris and Aqui staying mostly balance in their win to loss ratio each round. Ignia seems to win and lose randomly, though she often makes riskier plays.

 

“Sure is.”
I nod, looking up at the lights, then back to the door, heading out.

 

Shadow Stephanie just follows you on foot this time, only teleporting to catch up within shadows.

 

I start heading back down the hallways.

The shadows are more frequent than one would expect with the lights being on. There’s a pattern of every other light being on, assuming the one that’s supposed to be on isn’t broken.

 

Shadow Stephanie teleports between each off light, appearing to be rather menacing and creepy if not your friend.

 

I don’t seem to mind the teleporting.
One we get to the cross-section of the hallways, I head right, which would be straight had we just entered.

 

Shadow Stephanie follows regardless, keeping an eye out for more corpses.

 

The first thing she notices before anything else is that the doors down this hallway have names on them, and two next to each other are kicked down. These two read “Shawn” and “Annie”, respectively. From the doors she’s seen so far, only two names stick out: “Sasha”, the first door she sees, and “Ralph”, not too far away.

 

"How are you going to convince hunters to let prey sleep in their home?"

Ruby keeps an eye on Tirra's tendencies.

 

No one responds. The door does look to be unlocked though.

"I give you free reign on how much time you shall need, however, I will be inquiring every now and then about the progress." Terrae says.

He summons a piece of paper and writes something down on it.
"Bring this to one of the housing firms here in Perniciosa. They shall provide you with a building."

 

"Aspiring. Knowing your way around prose can help when deciphering very complex visions of the future."

I head through the door and look around.

 

Ren tries opening it and peeking inside.


"Yes, sir."
"Thank you for everything."
"We'll do our best not to disappoint."
"Hell, if we disappoint him, she'd probably wipe us if she saw it!"

It's a mess hall, Reiglynn and Erevne sitting at a fancier, central table.
