"What's a sec?"

 

They don't hear you, but you soon hear four sets of footsteps coming closer.

Alice narrows her eyes at Claire before heading back to the kitchen.

 

"We only do it to humans, since they're essentially moving food." Shadow Stephanie says, entering the room.

"You're not a real dark spirit, are you? Your soul is different." Claire says as Alice begins to head back to the kitchen.

 

I should probably move.

 

The rest of the room just looks like a generic generator room.
I shrug, walking towards the generator.

 

Shadow Stephanie follows, looking the generator over.

 

Alice glares at her before turning off the burners on her oven.

Where, exactly? You can't really get out of the trench, and everywhere else is a dead end... you probably have one more shot at making it into the exhaust pipe.

 

"Why is she angry? She is a detective, I thought she would like to know the truth." Alice hears Claire ask Artemis.

 

"I don't need to be reminded that I will never fit in with either shadows or draconians." Alice snaps from the kitchen.

 

"You fit in here." Claire says.

 

"This is neither a shadow nor a draconian society."

 

"It is composed of it's parts, though," Claire says, "You fear you will be outcast, yet you're accepted by both groups."

 

"Shadows, yes. Draconians, no."

 

"What about Ihra?" Claire asks.

 

"You should calm down, Tuer. You're safe." He says as he tries to comfort the centaur.

 

"...She's something else entirely."

"S-still c-cold-d-d."

 

Claire stays quiet.

 

"Uhm.. I could try and warm you up." He gets closer to the centaur and puts his furry paws around him.

 

Alice spends another minute in the kitchen before heading upstairs.

"T-that's sort of a-awkward, b-but thank-kss..."

 

Claire changes her attention to Ruby, though she doesn't stare at her so deeply.
