The girl raises an eyebrow, and says kinda sassily “Oh, so the child is telling the truth?”

 

Heat: (to Caligo, harsh whisper) "Comrade, please. She doesn't know what a halfling is. She may be able to help us, and if not she will just leave and not draw attention."

 

I walk downstairs to see what all the hassle is.

I suddenly remember that one of my eardrums is still broken from the shatter spell, and cast Cure Wounds (level 2) on myself.

I regain 12 hp.

 

Kyelas: "Er... Yes. He... Sort of is. We're waiting for him to wake up from his 'nap' because SOMEONE didn't let him tell his side of the story."

(I did a combination of try to tell the truth in the softest way possible, but also pin it on Caligo to keep some of us in a good light.)

 

I’m debating how to make her respond to this whole situation

I was not expecting you to tell the truth

 

"Instigate? It hurts a lot to see how low you think of me. And, let me guess, height joke incoming, referencing that I said low."

"He's magic, Kyleas, he would tell his side of the story by kicking us the hell out of his house."

I just shoot you a glare.

 

I was best suited to the situation, but I am a terrible liar irl. Lying literally doesn't come naturally to me.

Erevan (approaching from behind): "Give it a rest, will you? You're only confusing our guest. We can deliberate these matters later."

 

"Yes. We are. I thought that was obvious."

I mutter.

 

Giving our names to the girl wouldn't be wise. They now have information on the party.

A puff of smoke comes out of Heat's mouth, much like a dragon.

Heat: (to the girl) "Listen, have you noticed an unusual amount of undead roaming the areas around here?"

I'm going to tell her our ultimate plan to diffuse the false judgement she probably has of our motives.

 

Erevan: "That's enough!"

"What, do they not teach basic etiquette at murder school?", I mutter.

I look up and address the girl.

Erevan: "I am terribly sorry for all of this."

 

I bite my thumb at you, then head back inside.

 

You do that. I'm trusting you on this one.

 

I don't respond as I walk back inside.

Even if Caligo is being stubborn and rude right now, that helps us a lot because the girl surely thinks he's a child now.
