"Thank you." I thank him, letting the air out, not realising I was holding my breath.
I look down at his abdomen "What happened to your wound? And more importantly, got any ideas of how we are going to break those chains?"

 

So...I have a horn.

 

"Wait, Rathius. I can fight———"

Rathius growled and snorted hard, making smoke puff out of his nostrils, silencing Diabel. He bit his lip. "The effect of the illusion is gone, Rathius. I should be able to fight..."

Rathius turned away and spread his wings, then took off roughly, leaving Diabel on the roof. Rathius heard the knight shout after him, but he ignored him.

Rigel Belphegor Barialle. Sin of Sloth. Rathius thought about the name of the Sin they had just fought.

Acrux Lucifer Cythas. Sin of Pride. The man who destroyed his village. If Sloth was here, and his unnamed 'sister', there were chances that there were other 'Sins' inside the capital right now. Rathius gritted his teeth together. If he met Acrux in this capital— he would be the first one to fight it.

Suddenly. He smelt a terrible stench of the witch from in front of him. It was more than double the amount of smell Rigel was emitting. He turned his eyes at the place— and narrowed it instantly.

It was a brutal scene. Almost a hundred civilians and knights alike were lying on the ground dead or unconscious, blood filling the pavement.

And amidst it was a single figure covering themself in a black coat— and Rigel Belphegor Barialle.

Meh, too much to list. Just think of all the potions they have in minecraft. (honestly i was forgetting this was a minecraft forum ffs. I haven't played in like a year) but not ridiculous ones like potion of jumping high up and stuff.


"Hehe, maybe. So you can sense our smell? That's so cool!" The boy hopped around on the roof. If it wasn't for his long hair, his hunched back and the two knives attached to his dangling arms, it was a cute sight.

"Hm. Before we fight, can we exchange names? People always tell me that it's important to name ourselves before we fight. But you know, it's useless, because Rigel's Authority just erases everything! But whatever. This is my name."

He stopped hopping around, and finally moved his dangling arms, moving them to his sides and spreading them wide.

"Rey Beelzebub Farrenveitos. Cardinal Sin of the Witch's Order, representing «Gluttony»."

Archibaud felt Izanami's amusement. Of course. Why?

Rikuld cocked his head to the side. "What are you thinking of?"

"Something absolutely reckless." Archibaud stated, then sped his body up to his maximum speed. He moved in an instance next to «Greed», and sent a powerful swing of the scythe. The man's daggers blocked the blow, but he was being moved back slowly.

If his weapons were pushed towards him, Rikuld had to keep a certain distance between himself and the blades, or else he would be stabbed. That was how Archibaud was moving «Greed» towards the window slowly.

The Sin turned and his eyes widened. "You aren't planning to——"

"Yyyaaaaah!!!" Archibaud let out a cry as he sent out the strongest attack yet. More knives appeared in front of Rikuld, blocking the blow and catching the scythe.

The man's body was sent back by the impact. Multiple shields appeared behind the Sin to shield him from the broken glass, but he didn't have anything that would stop his momentum. And he disappeared as he fell downwards.

"——huh?" Archibaud felt a pull in his scythe, and realised that Greed's daggers had hold of his scythe from all sides.

"Shit!" He swore, but he was too late. All the fallen weapons inside the room shot towards him from the back. The only way to evade— was out of the window.

And a second later, he was free-falling down the castle tower towards the ground, Greed grinning a few meters below Archibaud, also falling. Looking up, Archibaud saw all the weapons coming out from the window and raining down on him.

 

I stab the scythe in the castles wall to slow down and keep doing that until im down if I can I alsotry to doge some of the weapons

 

"I've frozen my wounds." He explained with a pained expression. "I won't last long. I feel my life still draining out."

Angela finally realised the amount of pain the knight was in. Freezing up a deep cut in your stomach— it was easier said than done.

Kayde shook his head, as if telling her not to worry. "....Anyway. I don't think the chains mean anything. How are you not affected, the one being touched by chains the most?" Looking at Angela, who didn't answer, he continued. "I think that woman can determine who to influence her 'Authority' to. She definitely likes you, so she might be just letting you live...."

"Come on, big sister. You've caused such a mess again."

And a single boy entered the scene, looking around at the bodies with an amused smile.

"Please— everyone, please stay calm!" A knight was shouting, trying to calm down the crowd.

The safety shelter was packed full with people, in which James was standing inside too. He felt anxious— there seemed to be various battles going on outside, and he wanted to join. But if he were to go outside now, he would be stopped by the knights, further deepening his suspiciousness other than his armed appearance.

He suddenly felt his hair on his neck stand up. James had felt it numerous times before— his instincts telling him that a danger was approaching.

And it was coming fast— from the direction directly above the shelter.

 

I unfold my wounded wing, looking at the hole where the chain has gone through it "I think you're right"
"And who are you? This is already bad enough!" I shout at the boy, trying to look challenging but fearing that he gets in the fight.

 

You do that. You stop sliding down with the scythe in the tower, and the rest of the weapons fall towards the ground. Right over the place Rikuld landed amidst clouds of dust.

Then he heard laughter.

"Ahahahaha!! You really are great, Scythe Archibaud! It's been so long since I last had this much fun!"

«Greed» appeared standing on a rood of one of the lower towers. He widened his arms, and more and more and more weapons started to materialise. There were at least three hundred weapons around him.

"You've got to be kidding me...." Archibaud muttered. Rikuld Kavenhaitos was the worst opponent for Archibaud— for someone like him who couldn't use any magic, this man was deadly.

"But it's game over." He flicked his hand— and they all came flying in rows after row. Just deflecting them wouldn't work this time.

Archi, run!! Izanami screamed, finally understanding «Greed»'s danger level.

 

I mutter "we'll meet again" and I'm probably not yet at the very bottom of the castle so I get izanami out of the wall and fall until I'm almost to the bottom before slowing my landing like I did before and running in the city to find anybody that is in troble

 

"Hm? There are still people alive?" The boy turned his bright-red pupils at Angela and Kayde. "Perhaps they're your favorites this time, huh?"

"Oh—yes. Aren't they great? So full of love!"

The boy shrugged. "I can't hope to understand. But I get it. I won't harm them."

"That's a good boy." Bellatrix said lovingly. The boy only shrugged again.

"Who... are you?" Kayde asked. He really seemed to be at his limit.

The boy turned back to the two of them. "Oh yeah? I forgot."

"My name is Rigel Belphegor Barialle. Cardinal Sin of the Witch's Order, representing «Sloth»."

"«Sloth»..." Kayde muttered, and at the same time, Angela whispered, "Barialle...."

Rigel and Bellatrix had named the same surnames.

 

I turn to Kayde and lower my tone of voice "Are they... family?" I turn back to the two
"What are you doing here?" I ask the boy while trying to help Kayde stand up
"Are you okay? Do you think you can stay here for a little longer?" I ask the knight

 

Rathius lets out a might roar and starts decending towards the Sin, claws ready to kill.
Once he gets closer he breathes fire down onto the Sin.
(So Sloth's ability has something to do with losing memories?)

 

I should probably move.

Give me a sniper rifle and I mays as well be this dude.

 

"What significance has my name to you...? If you must have a name, call me Purity."

Behind my back, I coat my dagger with a poison of Slowness.

 

"I'm okay... I'm okay...." Kayde didn't seem okay at all.

"Why I am here?" «Sloth» repeated Angela's question. "To clean up my sister's mess, obviously."

Suddenly, Rigel's head snapped upwards. "Sister! Above us!"

And the two Sins were covered in inferno.

Chains slashed through the fire, chasing them away instantly. Bellatrix had covered Rigel over, and taken the fire damage. However, her black cloak seemed to absorb a lot of the heat. Rigel stood up, then smiled.

"You were the boy from before, right? Now you're a dragon? Hah, that's great!"

"Another believer of love, perhaps?" Bellatrix turned to the large figure flying in the air.

A blood red dragon, with rage in its eyes, gave a mighty cry.

 

I step back a bit at the sight of the dragon, helping Kayde stand up and bringing him back with me
"Are you here to help?" I yell at the dragon. Afterwards, I realize "Boy? How on earth is that a human?"

 

"You are running? Why~?" The voice of Rikuld sounded behind Archibaud. There was a crash, and Archibaud saw an enormous greatsword about two meters long buried itself right next to him.

More and more armaments rained down on Archibaud, who barely dodged them all. Then—

A shadow passed above Archibaud, and in the next second, «Greed» had landed in front of the Scythe.

"Our goal has been achieved. Until we leave, let me enjoy this." The Sin said, materialising twenty two-meter-class greatswords in the air.

 

Rathius lands next to Angela and Kayde, giving them a bit of cover with one of his wings.
Looking at the Sins, he growled and let out another roar.

 

I say to izanami "Iza I don't think we can run from him, this is most definitely a fight or die situation"

"You're kidding...."

Verillian found himself peering at the scene from behind a corner. His wandering around in the Capital had suddenly gone wrong when hundreds of witchfiends suddenly appeared, attacking all nearby people. Verillian fought inside the chaos, hunting down many witchfiends with his fighting power.

And now, most witchfiends had been hunted down by the knights of the Capital. Verillian, instead of going to the shelter, decided to look for the source of all the trouble. He was shocked that it was all caused by a single young boy— who happened to be facing a ragged man holding a staff— and named himself «Gluttony».

"Purity, purity.... I like that." Rey smiled wickedly, an expression that didn't match with his appearance of a child. "I hope you'll let me enjoy, Purity."

He clicked his fingers together, and Tyrinel felt presences approaching him. He looked up into the air.

Three enormous birds— each one as big as an entire carriage— had appeared in the sky, flapping their massive wings. They looked like vultures, but with wicked-long beaks and talons. Their feathers gleamed black and slick.

That gesture mostly answered Angela's question— that the dragon did not meant them harm.

"What....." Kayde muttered as he looked up with half-closed eyes. "You are—"

"Sister, can I leave this to you? I need to start working." «Sloth» turned to «Lust» and asked. Bellatrix seemed to smile wickedly and faced Rathius.

"Alright— I see that you are angry towards Rigel. And also towards me? That is great. I love to be loved!" As the Sin cried, over twenty chains appeared from her sleeves, writhing in the air like snakes. "Come at me, dear dragon~!"

 

Rathius breathes fire in Lust's direction and charges at her. (The idea was that the fire works a some kind of blind spot. Taking she can't see me cause I'm right behind the fire.)
