Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

She quickly whisks the acid off her porch.
"Nah. Thanks for saving me the paperwork, though. I was just going to shoot him 'til he did... that." She scoffs, telekinetically cutting Yxun's remains to ribbons.

 

There's nothing left of him.

"I-I-I, I don't know how this happened, I-I...I have no idea w-who...w-what those t-things are..." I say, clearly extremely shaken, "I...I evacuated Artemis, and Katie, a-and Claire and everyone else I know aren't those...those things. H-H-How the hell did this happen!?"

I shake on Alice's porch, in shock and panic. A bit of blood spurts from my missing arm and eye, and it looks like my left leg is a little dissolved.

 

"I dunno. How many were... those?"

 

"I-I have no idea. T-There could be more, I-I locked down the palace, E-Eve is checking it over, s-she can't be in-infected by one of those...those m-mimics, s-surely. T-They could've spread outside the palace. O-Oh god, I seriously hope they didn't spread outside the palace, I...I can't deal with this..." I say, panicking even more, "T-They swarmed me, t-tried to turn me into one of them...f-f-fuck, if t-they'd got me...fuck fuck fuck!"

I put my hand on my head, shaking and panicking, a few tears running down my face out of fear.

 

Alice hesitates before splitting and half of herself hiding in you.
"There's only one of Eve, and multiple of them. Eve can't be everywhere at once. Absorb my strength and make sure the citizens are okay." She says. "And if you say no, then I'm going myself."

 

"I-I-I can't...There's s-so many citizens, I-I need to check over the armies, m-make sure they're r-real, and get a search party all over the c-city." I say.

Hiding within me, Alice can feel I barely have enough strength to even stand.

 

"Shut up and absorb me, I don't care how primal it is. You're gonna die here on my damn porch if you keep moping!" She yells at you.

 

"W-W-What? Y-You'd lose your strength, y-you won't get it back." I say, surprised.

 

"Whatever works best. As long as we don't die out here."

 

She gets through without trouble.
“Well, that works, too.”
She forms in a sort of living room, or lounge room. Either way, it’s obviously not what you would normally find in the middle of a hill. The walls are lined with shelves, home to books and various knick-knacks. The whole room is covered in layers of dust. On the door is a lock about the size of a ring finger, and it looks like it can be turned.

 

Shadow Stephanie tries turning the lock.

 

It turns after a bit of force, and a loud clicking is heard.

 

Shadow Stephanie tries opening the door for you.

 

I opens with a creak to the inside.
“Thanks.”
I say, stepping through.

 

"No problem. Care to give me the rundown of this place?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"Shut up and take it before you die on my goddamn porch!" She growls.

"I'm trying, okay? I don't think it'd kill you to think things through a bit right now." The dragon says, frustrated.

 

The half of Alice hiding within me feels herself drain away into nothing as I consume it, gaining enough power to heal myself fully. I open a portal back to the Realm of Shadows, gathering my confidence and heading through.

 

The other half of Alice steps towards the portal.
"Don't you go dying, now, I'm gonna want that back later!" She calls.

 

The portal closes in front of Alice, though probably not intentionally.

 

She heads back inside, weary.
